Warren and Kain carefully walk along the cracked ground and make their way to us. Kain staring at the massive golden egg.
"Maker, what is that?"
I stare at it, almost a feeling of relief washing over me. The strange haze seemingly disappears, my heart beating with an unknown source of joy. I put my hand over my chest, Vexien appearing between us and the egg.
"I won't allow you. You have no right to gaze upon her magnificence. You don't deserve it!"
He swings his arm out, his sword flying from inside to room and moving into his palm.
"Let her sleep in peace! When she awakes, the world will be rid of all evil. She will save us, just as she did one-thousand years ago!"
Vex seemingly jolts, a shocked expression on his face.
"One-thousand years ago was the Time of Desolation. Does that mean...?"
Vex quickly jump outwards, towards the egg. Vexien flies towards him but suddenly freezes, twitching in air as Vex goes passed him. I sigh, quickly teleporting up to the top of the egg. As I appear, I see a hollowed opening in the top. I peer inside as Vex lands next to me. I stare in shock at what rests inside.
A massive woman, curled up in a ball, sleeping. Massive platinum wings wrap around her from her neck down, and long white hair rolling over her face and neck.
"The goddess?"
I mumble to myself, feeling strangely reminiscent of her. I smile lightly as Vexien appears behind us. He growls, almost erupting with rage.
"You aren't worthy! Don't disturb Ayvex!"
Vexien lunges towards us, swinging towards Vex. I swing my sword back and block Vexien. Vex mumbles quietly to himself, almost as though in a panic. He stumbles back, gripping his hair and gritting his teeth. Vexien pulls his sword away and watches Vex with clenched teeth.
I stand up straight, mainly confused by the events unfolding before me. Blankk appears beside us and smiles.
"It seems the memories are returning to you, friend."
I look to Blankk, confused. Before I can speak up, Vexien jams his sword towards Vex. With one swift motion, Vex leans back and puts his palm to Vexien's cheek.
"[Stasis Snare]."
I see Vexien jump away, but freeze in air. His clothes, hair, and skin all stiffen up; hard as steel. Vex looks at his hands and, then me.
"I- I don't know what just happened."
Vex mumbles, Blankk frowning.
"Damnit."
Blankk replies, his tailcoat suddenly losing into glow. He falls limp and I watch him slowly start falling back. Vex quickly jumps forward and grabs Blankk, stopping his body from hitting the ground. I quickly pull the sword from Vexien's locked hand, breaking off his fingers in the process.
I pull the sheath from his back and put the sword on my hip.
"Now then, we can kill Arthur. Then we'll go back to Grim."
I say, stretching slightly. Vex pauses, then looks to me.
"I don't know why, but I feel weird. It's hard to explain, but I feel like I'm not me. Something feels completely wrong."
He throws Blankk over his shoulder, then sighs.
"I have questions for Grim the next time I see him."
I nod as Vex and I teleport back to the others. I look to everyone and speak up
"We're leaving."
Kain inspects the sword on my hip.
"And you're positive that's the weapon we need to defeat Arthur?"
Kain asks, almost suspicious of it. I nod.
"Grim said the lord had the sword, and Vexien was the lord. I see no reason for this to not be the correct weapon."
Kain nods, accepting my answer. Vex quickly pulls us all together to teleport. As the darkness starts to wrap around us, I see someone standing on air outside, a familair long white cloak blowing in the breeze. Before I can get a good look at the person, we appear back at a portal.
"I was unconscious when we came here, but I'm assuming this leads to Vathric?"
I ask, Vex nodding. Blankk suddenly jolts awake and looks at Vex.
"You can put me down now."
Vex almost jumps, startled by Blankk suddenly talking. Vex quickly drops Blankk, but he easily lands on his hand and pushes himself to his feet. Azeroth chuckles.
"Glad you woke up faster than last time."
Blankk nods in agreeance as I walk up towards the portal. Everyone follows behind me, all of us quickly stepping through the portal. As we all emerge, I see several heavily armored men standing before me. Behind them are another hundred soldiers. I start to step forward, but Vex grabs my shoulder.
"Spare them, I'll let you do whatever you want to Arthur and Merlin."
I reluctantly accept, Vex stepping passed me. I cross my arms, waiting to see what spell Vex uses.
"[Mass Stasis Snare]."
I watch everyone suddenly freeze in place, almost incased by an invisible block of ice. Vex looks back to me and smiles.
"See? Easy."
My body feels warm, a strange warmth. A very comforting feeling washing over me. I nod as Vex quickly grabs us all and teleports us across the city, appearing in front of the portal to Sathric and infront of hundreds of crumbled buildings. Without hesitation, we jump through. After a few seconds, we emerge to a shocking sight.
The entire complex in front of the portal is demolished. Only a few small buildings are still standing. Dried blood lines the ground and unidentifiable corpses are scattered across the area. Vex clenches his fist and stares at the mess, clearly upset.
"Arthur."
Vex quickly moves off the platform and looks around the area. I see everyone looking around as well, all shocked as well. Vex slowly walks back to us, his eyes closed and hands clenched.
"I doubt Arthur would have let anyone live. Let's go, we're off to Tevintis."
Vex reaches out and grabs all of us, but looks into my eyes.
"Oh, and Dante. I wouldn't normally condone it, but I want you to tear Arthur limb from limb."
