After facing off for a couple minutes and leaving their audience almost scared to death, Ira finally relented. While taking on Peter wasn't an issue for him, he knew that any fight would end with the involvement of Zander and Charlotte. He knew that they were more inclined to siding with Peter which would put him at major disadvantage.
"Just wait till I'm successful in creating another ascendant, then we'll see if they can maintain the status quo" stated Ira.
"When that happens, I'll be the first to congratulate you" said Peter.
As the two descended to the ground, Elizabeth and her guards let loose a sigh of relief. A potential disaster was averted with minimal damage.
To avoid any further trouble, Elizabeth decided to conduct the searches herself. Her heart was racing the whole time she was searching Ira. However, she got through it without issue thanks to Peter's presence. When it came Peter's turn to be searched, he turned to Elizabeth and gave her a quick once over.
Oh… I remember you. You were that little girl who got taken in by Zander and Charlotte in their first batch of disciples. I really am getting old I can't believe how much you've grown." Said Peter, seemingly thinking back on days long gone by.
"It's an honor to be remembered by you," Said Elizabeth.
"You're still as stiff as you were back then, I guess somethings never change." Laughed Peter.
"Well anyway, you should learn how to take yourself less seriously. Being stern all the time wears on you after a while. Believe me when I say I know what I'm talking about." Said Peter in a grandfatherly tone.
And by right he could. After all he was already a couple hundred years old when Elizabeth was born.
After the search was fully conducted Elizabeth proceeded to lead the two powerhouses in the direction of the Guru's Ballroom. Seeing the name of the ballroom Peter couldn't help but comment.
"Those two haven't forgotten their master it seems. I still wonder what happened to that luckless old man."
Ira snorted upon hearing this. "Hmph, does it matter? He's probably dead and buried by now."
In response to Ira comment Peter simply shrugged.
When they reached the door, Elizabeth informed the guard on duty who quickly ran inside to inform the master of ceremonies of their arrival.
*
"Please welcome the arrival of the Titan of The North, Sir Perter Invicta and his majesty Emperor of Aeternum Ira Tyrannus!" loudly declared the master of ceremonies.
"How dare he announce my name second" grumbled Ira as he entered the ballroom.
"It was in age order, no need to get worked up over something like that" replied Peter as he walked along side Ira.
Seeing the extravagance of the ballroom, Peter could only exclaim in admiration.
"Wow, those two street orphans have done well for themselves." Joked Peter as he admired the decorations. "I'm completely underdressed" he continued as he looked around at the guests.
Considering the fact that Peter turned up to a high-class event in old travel worn clothing. One wouldn't be wrong in calling him underdressed. In fact, calling him underdressed was playing it safe. As he stuck out like a sore thumb and looked completely out of place within the lavish ballroom.
However, no one present had the guts nor the intention to call him out on this. He was an ascendant after all.
As the two sauntered through the ballroom on their way to the table of honor which had two seats conveniently left unoccupied. They noticed the table full of gifts center stage.
"Hey Zander, has the gift giving ended yet?" Yelled Peter.
"No not yet you two were just in time." Laughed Zander.
"Oh, that's good then." Said Peter as he sifted course towards the stage.
Hearing this exchange Ira also followed suit and headed for the stage.
Walking up to the stage, Peter stopped for a moment before making a slashing movement with his hand. This slash cut open a rift in space that lead to Peter's private pocket dimension. After sifting through the dimension for a minute Peter removed his hand with something held in it. That something turned out to be an egg of some kind.
The egg was the size of a baby's head and was pure white in color. The eggs surface was extraordinarily smooth and possessed an almost mirror finish. The egg's surface was covered in small golden runes from an unfamiliar language, but held an otherworldly charm that demanded one's attention.
All in all, it was clear to all those in attendance that the egg was special.
"This is the egg of a Celestial Hawk, and the last of it's kind." Said Peter.
"There are legends from the primordial era that sate these heavenly birds were used as mounts by the Celestial race who used to rule over this continent before they went extinct along with them." Continued Peter.
"It is said that an adult Celestial Hawk can fight on par with a dragon and fly at speeds surpassing that of lightning. I was lucky enough to stumble across this egg during one of my many journeys around the continent." He finished.
Unsurprisingly this gift of Peter's shocked everyone in the room. Even Charlotte, though she could read Peter's mind. The fact that there still existed a celestial hawk in this world was shocking news even to someone of her stature.
"Peter, I don't know what to say… All I can do is say thank you for your wonderful gift." Said Zander with heartfelt appreciation.
"I was in a good mood today so I decided to be generous." Joked Peter as he descended from the stage.
Now all eyes were on emperor Ira. Peter had just revived a species though extinct, how was Ira going to match this.
Ira simple snorted when noticing the gazes directed at his person.
"Hmph, ignorant ants."
Standing on the stage, Ira sweep his gaze over the guests seated bellow. An act that sent chills down the spines of the various delegates.
Much like Peter, he too opened his pocket dimension. Grabbing hold of something from within it.
Seeing this, Elizabeth who was standing at the back of the room couldn't help but sigh.
"All those checks were pointless, and no one even told me." She muttered under her breath.
When the item was fully revealed the audience let out a collective gasp. It was a spear constructed fully from what appeared to be diamond. The spear was a two meters long leaf spear, and was all formed from one piece of crystal.
"This spear goes by the name Heavens Judgement, it belonged to a general of the Celestial race. It is a magical spear that can free control its length, weight and rigidity while also being a perfect conduit for aura."
In regards to weapons a perfect conduit means that 100% of the aura channeled into it is utilized, as opposed to an imperfect conduit that had some wastage. About 99.99% of the weapons that existed were imperfect conduits. In fact, the only perfect conduits in current circulation belonged to the Four Ascending Kings.
Once again, the delegates experienced a shock. How could the emperor be willing to give up something so valuable to an enemy?
