Well, he wasn't really sure how to go about getting his revenge if he wasn't even sure where Otomaru was. Or if he was even still around. That is if this was still the same world he knew. Something was telling him that it was a lot different than what he remembered it to be. Just look at his traveling companions. They were both sporting scales and tails. That was not normal. First off he needed to get better acquainted with his surroundings. And in order to do that he needed this woman to take him around. Though, right now she was more intent on talking with her companion than him. Yashi still didn't understand how this was even happening. He could understand her and she could understand him, but he couldn't understand the male. Why was that? Was it because he had a connection with her and not the male? There was only one thing they could do to test this.
"Hey Scale Lady… pass me to your friend." Yashi wasn't entirely sure if calling her by that name would provide positive results but he didn't have a name to call her by so he had to improvise.
Unfortunately it backfired on him. That spot next to her eye twitched in anger and he could feel it in the spots where they touched. Not good.
Her friend gave her a confused looked. "Re wux kruth?"*1
"What? Yes? Why wouldn't I be?" The woman looked rather irritated now. She glared down at her sword before looking away with a sigh.
Ah this was fun. Yashi wanted to know what she was thinking. He wanted to know everything she was feeling right now. He wasn't normally like this but when you've been isolated for as long as he had been with no one to talk to or have a normal conversation with things could end up this way. At least it ended up this way with him. Yashi honestly couldn't say that there were many people who happened to be in the same shoes as him. As he let the two continue their conversation since he couldn't really follow along anyways he glanced about their surroundings. There were a lot of forested areas and if his sense of smell was anything to go off of the air had a sweet smell to it. "Interesting. I've never smelt anything like this before."
Yashi could feel the gaze of her eyes but he ignored it and continued to take in his surroundings. It was then that he sensed it. "There's someone following us…"
"What?" The woman stopped and looked around. It was clear to him that she couldn't see him yet, but he could sense him and that was all that mattered.
"Just continue walking. It might not be anything." Even as he said that the being had stopped as soon as she did. It wasn't not anything. They were definitely being followed. Friend or foe?
"Jaka svabol?"*2 The male spoke looking around as well.
"Nothing. Never mind. It was just an animal. Let's fly."
The woman didn't seem to wait for a reply as the sounds of breaking bones echoed in Yashi's mind, "wait, what-?" and the pain that flashed through him before he was slapped in the face with the high speeds of wind as the ground below became smaller the higher they went. "Holy crap! You can fly?!" Yashi couldn't help but screech out in surprise and excitement. He wasn't even sure she could hear him as they were flying at speeds he never thought were possible. Lucky for him he didn't have an actual mouth otherwise he was sure he would have gotten a mouth full of bugs. Maybe even choked on a few.
They stayed in flight for a long time before slowing down and landing. The sounds of breaking bones sounded in his mind again along with the flash of pain before he was left with the ringing in his ears. "Wow, what a rush. You feel that every time you fly? I can't imagine doing that every single day…" Though if she kept him around he would most likely experience that every day. "What the heck are you anyways?"
She had been a mused at first but the last words shot her back into irritation mode. Whoops maybe he went a little too far. "No disrespect meant by those, honest. Where I came from I've never come across anyone like you."
What, was she giving him the silent treatment now? No matter he glanced around and gave a small sigh. At least who ever had been tailing them was no longer in range.
"Are they gone?" She asked in a low tone. Huh. So she wasn't exactly ignoring him. She was trying to see if she could sense the being too.
"Ui svaust gethrisja? Jahen yth drekim wiilirka usv creolnali? Kii tira ti wux filki quilinstok batobot instead di gewjir hefoc vi bvecko weirdo...?"*3
It seemed that her friend was confused as ever with her actions. It was clear he hadn't sensed the being either. What was the point of having someone like that around? Oblivious to their surroundings when there could be dangers lurking around the corner. Wait… why did he care all of a sudden about that? Maybe perhaps it was being blindsided by his best friend. No… he wasn't even a friend at this point. Sorrow for the loss of a good friend seeped inside of him for a moment.
"Re wux crying?" *4
"What?" Both Yashi and the woman responded at the same time.
"I'm not crying..." She finished before blinking and touching her cheek as something wet slid down it. She was crying though, why deny the obvious? "Whatever…" She wiped angrily as the tears kept coming before she stormed off.
Did… did she feel the pain and betrayal that swirled deep inside of his soul just now? It was clear she didn't want to talk about it as her friend kept trying to comfort her. It only seemed to piss her off more. If he wasn't careful he might just reveal more than what he wanted. At the same time though, he could use that to his advantage. A small smirk formed on his lips.
"What are you smiling about?" She asked angrily at him.
"Si mi ti quo'queglir…"*5 her friend said slowly with confusion and worry.
"I'm not…" She trailed off as she rounded on her friend.
Yashi could only smile even more. "Yeah, who are you talking to? Don't want to sound like a crazy person, do you? Just talking to your sword…heh."
"Oh just shut up." Swiping her hand in the air she started to walk faster so not to keep in pace with her friend.
"Hmm." Was that to him or to her friend? Ah yes. This was going to be very fun. Normally he wouldn't make fun of someone like this but he couldn't help himself. His old personality seemed to have faded away and a new one rose in its place. One that didn't mind teasing and more. He was going to make up for everything and pay back twice the pain he felt. No one would stand in his way, not even this beauty.
