Chereads / My Mommy is a Priestess / Chapter 27 - Family Talk

Chapter 27 - Family Talk

Inside the car, Zelenia queried her children. She was worried sick when she witnessed someone chasing them. Glancing over her shoulder, she asked Janus and Aisha. "Kids, are you all right?"

"We are fine, mommy. Don't worry!"

Aisha replied to her query. As a mother, she would always fear for her children. What if it was not the dark elves but someone she feared to come and take them away from her?

"Mommy?" Janus placed a hand on his mommy's shoulder.

Zelenia snapped out of dazed and returned to her senses. She pursed her lips to form a smile as she reached for her son's hand, placing her warm palm and squeezing her son's tiny hand.

"I would always worry about you guys," she expressed wholeheartedly.

Who's a parent who does not fear? She would always be.

"Thank you for sending Luna to save us, mommy. She is so cool!" Janus recalls what happened inside Luna's Azure Dimension.

At the least, she has the power to protect her children. But how long could they hide from people in Celestial Universe, particularly the Elders?

"I'm sorry. I should not seal Lionel and Sora inside you." After some thought, I expressed regretfully.

"We don't know who those people are, so we are uncertain if we should summon our familiar if we already learned how to, mommy," Janus said to his mom.

"Don't worry. Once you both learn to sense someone's aura, it will be easy to figure out their kind, whether they were enemies. Also, when you fuse with your familiar, you both can feel the danger coming and summon your spirit animal anytime, anywhere. You both must train sooner." She's determined to do so. She has to search for another place to stay every weekend and train the kids without delay.

"Can we go back to the lake instead, mommy?" asked Aisha, a glint of expectant gaze flashing her eyes.

"I love it too, hun. But the bridge is still under construction. We cannot just appear in the town without crossing the bridge. You two need to begin the training. However, we have to be careful if I use a portal."

"Can we visit the Elves' realm instead, mommy?" Janus suggested. He was listening earnestly and processing his mother's words. Now it was clear that they couldn't carelessly use their power or summon their familiars without a valid reason, such as emergencies.

"Hmm, not a bad idea. I'll see what I can do this coming weekend. But first, I have wonderful news!"

"What is it, mommy?" The twins are eager to know.

"Would you guys help me pick up our new house?"

"Really?! We will have a new house?"

"Yes! But I want you guys to choose. Do you like the village-type residence? Or a condo?"

"A condo!?"

"I want to choose a residence, but you need to move to another school if that is. Some residences have school inside the estate."

"It will be far from your work, Mommy." Janus thinks so.

"Yes, mommy. Can we stay at Davis Academy?"

Aisha's request and Zelenia could see a reason for that. Moreover, she is delighted by how her children are concerned about her too.

"Thank you, hun. My work is fine. I can still take a train going to the central city. But I could see you like it in the Academy." Even they were treated tough by other parents and bullied by their children.

"Yes! Do you know mommy? Kimberly is good at drawing! She told me she wants to become a painter!"

"Great! I'm happy you are close to this, Kimberly."

"But her mommy said she should become a doctor because they own a clinic."

"Oh, that was sad. But being a doctor is noble, saving lives and helping sick people. However, it should not force someone to do something they lack passion for. Loving work brings joy to the heart."

"I will remember that, mommy!" said Aisha with glee in her heart. She thinks her mommy is cool phrasing that!

Driving the car in silence, Luna glared at the priestess with sadness. The priestess is good at advising, which doesn't apply to herself.

'Luna, stop looking at me that way.'

'Even if you don't like to become a priestess, you choose it.'

'I was happy to become a priestess. I have my reasons, and you help me achieve my goals. Now, I drag you to my other foolishness,' she apologized from the bottom of her heart.

'If you weren't a foolish cute back then, I won't help you.' Luna acted as if she hated it.

Zelenia giggled, then remembered she wanted to confront her. "Anyway, Luna, where did you get this car?"

"You bought it today," she replied flatly, stunning the priestess.

"Huh? Wait, don't tell me?"

"Is it awesome, mommy? The car drove on its own! Luna was too cool when she copied this car!"

"Wait for a minute. Did the kids witness that?"

"I saw one across the street. So purchased it through telepathy. I planted memories in the car dealer's mind and took the car. The papers are also legal, and you can have a check."

The glove compartment opened, and Zelenia took out the documents.

The car was purchased legally. All are dated today, and Luna even gets herself a driver's license. Of course, all done by her magic. She registered herself through magic.

"Luna? We've already talked that we should not be showing too much attention. Having this car is like…."

"Make them die in envy," Luna finished the priestess's phrase, but then she quickly dodged the issue. "We've arrived! Let's go, kids!"

Luna steps out of the car first, and the twin follows. Zelenia shook her head and followed them outside. How should she explain it when someone asks where the expensive car originated? Could she even afford it with the salary she had?

She understands why Luna exposed herself to human eyes. But it was too much entrance!

"Kids, I want you all to remember we should cut off purchasing such stuff in the future, okay?" Before anything else further, Zelenia reminded her children, particularly Luna.

"A new house and a car are more than enough, mommy! We could walk to go to school and home. You don't need to send us every day."

Zeleia gives her children a loving gaze. It touched her how the twins understand their situation. Guilt crept to her chest, but she wanted to teach them to live a simple life even if they could afford a luxurious life among everyone in this world.

"Walking is good for your health," she said afterward. "But it is now dangerous if I will let you guys walk alone."

"I can drop them to school, then pick them up in the afternoon..." Luna paused from taking another step forward, and Zelenia gave her a 'that will earn a lot of attention' look. "Or walk with them! That won't be bad if we move in nearby."

This time, she must live a low profile rather than stay hidden inside the priestess's body.

"Thank you, Luna. Also, we need a bigger house that Sora and Lionel could join us without the neighborhood noticing them hanging around. Let's find out which perfect direction to live by."

"How can we know about that, mommy?" Aisha asked. She likes the idea.

"Do you want to learn how to work on that?"

"Yes, mommy!"

"All right! We will ask for the help of the Wind Spirit. It will bring us to the best place!" Zelenia explained while they were pushing the grocery cart. They now began picking stuff and place to the cart.

"Wow! Looks cool!"

"A ritual to find what the heart is seeking. It still made me curious why that apartment building pointed out the last time we looked for a place, priestess. It's just a bunch of gossipers living there," Luna pouted.

"There must be a reason, Luna. To teach me how to live in this world with dignity and never lose my head after everyone throws a stone at me. I learned better about human behavior after we lived in that place. Besides, I wish for a place near a school and a subway. Plus, the tastiest bakeshop in the world! I remember Dee opened her bakeshop a few months before we moved in."

"So it was luck! The Force of Fate is leading us the right way. But this time, we need a bigger desire in our hearts as a bigger house we need plus should be still near the Academy and subway for me to get to work," Zelenia added.

"You have a car now." Luna reminded her.

"I can't drive that car at work!" However, she shook her head vigorously.

"Well then... How about buying a not-so-intimidating car?"

"I'll think about it. I might consider it. About the house, let's find one by the weekend!"

"Yey! I'm excited, mommy!" The two children cheered.

"All right. Let's hurry to get what we need. You kid, get your fresh milk. Luna and I will go to the meat section."

"Okay, mommy!"

Zelenia's gaze lingered on her kids walking toward the Freezer.
