"Essie you know I hate being in noisy places "
Vanita turned to her playmate with a frown. Essie had decided to take her out after being so out of it since Rimuel left
"Am worried about you, it's like you can't function without him around "
"Am okay you guys can go without me " Vanita turned to leave.
"You better come with me or you will be proving me right " Essie grinned. Vanita didn't want to admit that she missed Rimuel.
"Okay. But the moment I feel uncomfortable am leaving " she let out.
Essie nodded.
She ran upstairs to get changed. Soon Essie was driving them to the club. Eric was already there, Essie lead Vanita to their seats. She could feel her ears going numb from the loud music.
She sat next to Essie and Eric who seemed to have forgotten she was next to them.
Feeling left out she turned to her phone sending a text to Rimuel. Getting no reply she grabbed the beer next to her taking gulps of it.
Essie and Eric left for the dance floor. She watched them dance laughing at the strange move Essie was making.
it was a few minutes to midnight when they left the club. Essie was wasted while Eric was half sombre. Vanita decided to drive them home. She took her friend home first then dropped Eric last.
She headed home with a light smile on her face.
She could see blue and red lights from a distance as the sound of police cars could be heard. She could not park next to her home due to the crowd. Getting out of her car she walked through the group of people.
The policeman stopped her from going further, " Am sorry but it's out of bounds " he said.
She frowned, " But it's my home "
He looked down at her with pitiful eyes, " Am sorry for your loss "
"WHAT " she shouted but before he could reply two bodies were passed by her. She could see the bloody stains on the white sheets covered on them.
"But...." she stammered feeling her head getting faint.
Even without checking, Vanita knew that those were her parents. She turned trying to stop them from taking their bodies but her body staggered, she could feel it land on the cold grass as her eyes lost focus.
