This happened about 4 years ago but still creeps me out. I'm a male and was 20 years old when this happened
I went to a concert with my gf at the time and her 2 friends, one was a male and one was female, we were all the same age.
The concert was an emo band and the venue was about an hour from where we lived. The venue had an upstairs and a downstairs, the up stairs was a pizza shop and the downstairs was where the show actually takes place, you have to pass security with a ticket to get downstairs.
Me and my friends were smokers at the time, you had to walk up the steps and and go outside if wanted to smoke so that's what we did. While we were outside, we were smoking and talking when a man maybe in his late 40s walks up from out of nowhere wearing dirty clothes and carrying a duffle bag. He decides to join in our conversation and says "where you guys headed" we looked confused because some random guy just buts into our conversation and starts asking personal questions. I said "what was that?" He said "Where you guys headed?, I just got out of jail and I need a ride" I immediately felt unsafe and he was staring with this look that made me feel very uncomfortable.
I said "we don't live near here, we live an hour away" he responds with "that works for me, where's your car at?" We didn't say anything and quickly ran back inside and down the stairs, I assumed we would be safe because of the security.
We met up with more friends in the venue and talked about this creepy guy with them, I turned around and the guy followed us in the building and was just standing there staring at us. I wondered how he got past security but then I noticed that once the show starts the security doesn't guard the door anymore, the guy just followed right down the stairs.
I quickly spotted a security guard and told him that this guy just followed us from outside. Security approached him and after talking with him they walked over to me and said "the guy told us he's here with his daughter and she's up front enjoying the show" I immediately knew that was bullshit because he told me he "just got out of jail" anyway, me and my friends decided the best thing to do was leave fast and that's what we did.
I know that guy was planning something, and I want to know what he had in the duffle bag. I'm glad I never found out though.
to the sketchy people in the green truck lets not meet
In the past, in my residential neighborhood, I've had cars continuously follow me around on multiple occasions but never met the driver or anyone else in the car or face to face until now. Cars would just drive around 2-3 or even more times while I was out walking but those are stories for another time. I live in a place with low crime but several times I've been followed but always made it home safely without them finding out where I live.
The most recent encounter was even stranger. Not sure if I'm overreacting but when I went on my daily walk yesterday it was raining slightly but starting to let up. I was barely wet. There's no stores or anything nearby except houses and a school also a church. Out walking around with my headphones turned to a low volume to be aware of my surroundings, I was near my home kind of and I saw a green truck (I've never seen a truck like this anywhere around here) and before I could walk much further they started to drive backward and stop right next to me.
The guy driving looked ex-military and the passenger looked like she could be related to him. Anyways they showed no emotion then asked bluntly if I needed a ride somewhere. I said no thanks and started to walk again. The guy asked me again and I said no and he looked disappointed the woman glared then too. They left and I walked a bit more but went a longer route on my way home to avoid them seeing where I live.
Nothing about the encounter was normal to me. And why would a stranger ever have good intentions and want to pick someone up who probably lives nearby in that secluded neighborhood and is more than likely going home? The nearest store or destination to walk to isn't close. I can pick up vibes about people and the no emotion then the glares unsettled me. There's nothing around here and people don't just pass through.
If they don't live around here since I've never seen them and I've lived here a long time/walk around every day why did I see them and why did they talk to me? It seemed random but the way they acted was a bit weird. I hope I was just being paranoid but I can't shake the feeling they were up to no good.
None of my neighbors were home for the most part and not many cars around so if they really wanted to I'm sure they could've taken me. I think I'll stick to riding my bike for a while for an easy getaway and going to the gym again when they reopen.
