Im casually walking back to my home , tired and carrying a bunch of snacks as usual , the dollar store its quite far from my home and i honestly prefer walking instead of driving since makes me feel more safe .
"what if some drunkass rams my car and i get crushed during the wreck? , What if i lose the car control on a very dangerous curve on a high bridge and fall at a fatal height ?".
I brush away those exagerated paranoiac thoughts i've been having since i have use of reasoning , those thoughts even if they restrain me of trying new experiences , they have been keeping me from taking naive desicions that could ruin my life , i dont get drunk cause the thoughts of getting involved on a recklessly dangerous situation ( fights , getting lost , assaults etc...) , i dont smoke cause the thoughts of the painful long term consequencess .
Thoughts and more thoughts , thoughts like " that person silouette on the distance seems to have been following you since a suspiciously long time ago " i try to calm my self down thinking that this figure destiny just happens to be on the same route i follow , " probably it'll just turn to another path anytime soon" .
Some time passes and as i am going to turn to the right i have that chilling down my spine again and i turn around and i see it again but way a bit closer , but still far to distinguish any remarkable tray , my heart beat starts to rise a bit , so i decide to turn to the right the fast as i can in order to finally avoid it .
" how much till i arrive home i think ? Thats right a few blocks and ill be back eating some tasty chips alone as always" i think kinda satisfied , then that satisfaction dissapears as i see the silouette again , " theres no doubt " i think " this thing IT'S FOLLOWING ME" as i have a panic decide to start running and to my fateful mockingly luck i hear as that thing begins to run towards me as well , " it runs in both legs so it must be a person " i think " its not like a monster or a humanoid cryptid" " probably its an assaulter that targeted me cause my overall weak and vulnerable appearence , " not quite a good thought to help me calm down to be honest but i cant help it , my brain has always been this negative .
Then after a long , seemingly eternal time , i think im safe since its no longer following me as i look behind , so i slow my pace gradually down till im just tiredly walking , then after a few meters till i stopped running i finally arrived my home , where i just have a cat , i cautioulsy open my door and slam it behind me in case of someone following me .
I finaly chill " i did it" so i prepare some delicious meal with the snacks i bought back from the store , the most effective way to calm myself down is having a relaxing food binge , it might not be healthy but boy does it work , then i hear a noise from over the roof , " could it be that thing?" " Nah probably its just a possum , a racoon , a big rat , man even it could be a mountain lion , anything but a human " " a human doesnt have the claws to make that kind of sound does he?" Then i get interrupted by a sudden thing touching my feet , nearly freezing all of my body .
Then i notice the furry texture it has and look down to find my cat rubbing aganist my feet as she was asking to be petted *sigh* i nearly passed out cause of that scare , as i carry her towards her feeding plate in order to fill it , a big storm annouces its arrival with a loud thunder , " man i do hate thunders , they scare me so badly " after that a heavy rain complemented it loudly hitting the roof , with the final blow of strong winds that apart of making those ominous "shrieks" it caused that the tree near my bedroom window sarted to knock repeatedly aganist it , in another way of saying my house was crammed with unnerving noises.
So i decide ill sleep with my cat in order to feel more comfortable , and ill leave the tv on as always , i always do that in order to merely sleep, since i dont like to sleep at full dark cause my mind keeps me awake at the minimal noise and i feel pure terror , so things said and done i get to finally get on my bed and my cat makes herself comfortable over the sheets while comfortably purring .
That especific sound makes me ignore all the sounds the storm produces , even the uncanny scratches on my window that i assume are the three branches because of the wind, and finally fall asleep .
I suddenly wake up on the middle of the night cause a loud hit from the backdoor " did i lock it ? " Ask myself still drowsy " yeah i did " " maybe it was just a piece of rubble that slammed aganist the door , but wasnt able to break through" and satisfied go back to sleep.
The next morning i wake up by the sudden feeling of something climbing up to my bed " just my cat probably " i think without opening my eyes yet cause im still tired " wait my cat was already on the bed " " probably just went down to make her necesities " " hold up why is it so heavy ? " " Maybe she has been this big since a long time but you just didnt notice it"
" Man it kinda hurts how she digs her claws aganist my chest " " but thats normal , shes just getting comfy, thats why she is doing it" then i hear her ferociously hissing .
" what ? Why she suddendly got so ferocious " then i feel as the " cat " gets off my chest and pounces toward something , i hear as the cat loudly shrieks , waking me up with a sudden adrenaline rush ready to confront whatever was attacking my beloved precious cat .
But i inmediately freeze as i see some familiar figure over my cat , it indeed looked like a human , but had really long claws and had a really dark skin tone , looking like a shadow , and as it turned its head towards me i see the long ,razor sharp fangs , that normally hide beneath the lips , and it suddendly begins to approach me as i try to futely escape since it didnt cost it much to put its weight over me, i see as my cat , quite injured runs away from the bed as fast as she can, "how lucky she was" then the thing begins to gradually open its jaw while letting out a blood gurgling shriek as it pounces towards me , causing me to let out a all out scream as i think " THAT THING ACTUALLY FOLLOWED ME" .
