"Sir" a young voice calls out after a knocking on a door is heard. "Enter" a male voice booms. A door is opened. Footsteps. "Sir, I need to report discrepancies in the manifest. Some items are... missing." "Report" The male voice replies. "Mostly rations, but also a dagger, some random peices of clothing, a pair of boots, and a wide assortment of medical supplies are no longer able to be accounted for." "And you have asked the crew about the missing items?" "Yes sir, i had a few other items that were taken without being logged, but i was able to track them down. These items here are the only ones still unaccounted for"
Hidden around the corner, eyes unfocused but head cocked while listening intently, was a unkempt girl who had been sneaking around in the shadows. 'They caught on faster than most others do' she thought to herself while continuing to listen to the conversation in the other room. 'Looks like I'll have to abandon most of this stuff near the monkey grove. Hopefully they will think it was just animals. Most other crews do.'
Dropping the dagger in a corner where it would be noticed later, she decided what else she could leave behind. She didn't want to leave the boots behind, but it wasn't like she needed foot coverings after the long time since her previous shoes had worn through and become too small for her to wear. She did need at least one shirt though, most of the previously stolen clothing was no longer usable. 'Maybe if they find a few pieces that are damaged, they'll give up looking for the rest.' She thinks it over and decides on her course of action. She will keep the food, most of the medical supplies, and leave other items that had been torn or otherwise damaged in a trail that didn't look intentional leading to the monkeys grove. 'Hopefully they won't stay too long. I really don't want what happened last time to happen again. That was too much to handle.'
Remembering that others vison were better than hers, and just because she couldn't see them didn't mean they couldn't see her, she left the ship the same way she came on. She did notice a few people on patrol before they saw her, so she hid untill it was safe for her to continue. 'It's a good thing my hearing and smell are so good since I can barely see anything' she thought 'otherwise getting in and out unnoticed would have been realy hard.'
