"Turn around," he told me finally. I shifted as my sore ass throbbed and pain grew across my face. He glared me down as our eyes met. "I don't ever want to catch you sleeping with someone outside this hoard again. Understood? That was not an accident and I don't ever want to hear you use that as an excuse. I thought I made it clear you are mine. I own you. You are my mate and I never want you to disrespect me again. I'm going severely easy on you this time because-" the door was flung open suddenly.
"Master," Theo yelled and sounded out of breath and had a red bruise forming on his face. He was shaken up looking as he looked even more scared to be interrupting us.
"WHAT?" Vanitas roared angrily.
"It's the hatchlings! They're- They're-!"
"WHAT?" Vanitas roared as he went for him then and made his way out of the vehicle. I watched as Theo moved away in fear.
"D-Destroyed! Sir! All of them!"
Vanitas froze still for a mere second as if registering what he just heard and then took off into the house as I had a pretty good idea which direction he was headed in. I pulled my pants up and teleported to the hoard where I knew the eggs were taken to last. I searched for them as my heart pounded in my chest. I came across our nest where the eggs were smashed. The liquid drained from them. Small dragon bodies were spread out across the nest torn apart, their blood splattered everywhere. I covered my mouth in horror as I backed away from the nest entirely.
Who insane would do this?

Coins shifted in the nest making my skin crawl as I felt like I was being watched. I glanced at the noise where it was coming from to find nothing but gold shifting. There was nothing there to see as I squinted my eyes trying to discover who was here. I was thrown to the side suddenly and a burning sensation went off as my skin was pierced and I could feel something biting into my side and baring down. My blood splattered everywhere at once. I screamed, my cry echoing through the nest. The dragon revealed herself slowly as her camouflage like skin stopped blending into the environment and turned golden as it took on the color of the gold here.
Her teeth started to rip me apart as she threatened to take a full chunk from me. I screamed so loud it pieced my ears as it echoed through the cave system.
"VANITAS!" I begged as I realized I fucked up.
She growled and I was tossed into the nest with the dead hatchlings as she came after me. I caught a glimpse of her eyes as I tried to scramble to my feet and run from her. Blue eyes... those blue eyes... where have I seen those before?
I trembled as my hands touched the dead and poor things scattered in the nest. The eggshells were so sharp they cut my skin and forced me to move slower. I was knocked over as she dragged me to her by using the blanket. I was thrown down as she slashed her crawls into my skin and used her talons to cut across my stomach. Blood splattered everywhere and I whimpered as I tried to focus. Things were becoming blurry. Too hard to focus. I was terrified.
My mind locked in and I teleported out of the nest as my mind trampled on where to go. I was weak and the smell of blood was distracting me. I heard a roar suddenly as I saw Vanitas' dragon form swoop into the hoard and attacked her in one sweep. They rolled as he took her down toward the water and away from me.
I was picked up suddenly by talons as another yellow dragon lifted me from the coins and started to take me out of the hoard and toward the portal home. I felt a sense of comfort. I knew then I was safe as I caught Ildrass' scent. She was taking me away to safety. She flew past another dragon blocking the entrance but she let us pass when she saw who we were. She winked at me and I felt an overwhelming calmness from her, it was Farlora... I just knew it.
"It's... Siollynth," I whispered as I realized who just tried to kill me. Ildrass put me down by Farlora as she began to claw away at my clothes until I was naked and exposing all my wounds. She knocked me over when I tried to get away from her and she started to lick my wounds. Her spit healed what was too deep for me to heal as she worked her tongue into the holes of my wounds to stop and heal them.
I could hear silence as Siollynth's last crackling sound was made and my heart was pierced with an intense pain. I could only describe as loss. I heard Vanitas roar suddenly, shaking the cave as he declared his victory. I trembled as I looked up at Ildrass.
"Why did she do that?" I asked softly. Did she also kill the hatchlings?
Why would she do that?
Farlora looked at us suddenly as she somehow communicated with Ildrass. Whatever it was Ildrass picked me up and flew me over the trench and into the home. She transformed into her human form and made me lean on her as she took me to my room. We crawled into the bed in silence as she wrapped me up in her arms and held onto my head.
"Why?" I asked softly.
"It doesn't matter now," Ildrass told me as she looked to be close in tears herself. "Everything is fine now," she soothed me. "Everything is fine. They will be here soon so you should rest. You're exhausted."
I can't sleep. Not after that! No, not after that. I felt her fingers start to run through my hair as she began cleaning it in a way. I trembled in her arms as my mind lingered on Siollynth's talon's tearing into me. I stayed up. Unable to fall asleep, eventually I felt Ildrass leave but I faked asleep as I kept my eyes closed. She was gone rather fast, as if summoned somewhere. I was up as soon as she left. I couldn't think of anything but to head for the bathroom. I went inside and took the stool into the walk in and cut the water on. I was troubled as I bathed myself clean then sat on the stool under the water for comfort.
Eventually I got out of the water exhausted. I slipped into some silk pajamas and went over to the bed where I slipped into it finally and decided to take the advice and fall asleep.
