Chapter 8 - Decided to go Swimming

Lavina was still deeply troubled but then she's back again to her usual bubbly self and she innocently shouted, "Brother! I want a soup with lots of chilli!"

"Okay got it!"

"Brother, do you think she got an amnesia?"

"I don't think so, uhh maybe??"

Lavian, the brother of Lavina, said this with uncertainty.

"But you're a doctor! How could you say that? Are you a quack?"

Lavina asked as pasted her butt onto one of the chairs in the kitchen.

Lavian was speechless for a moment before he answered, "Why? Don't you trust your brother? This brother of yours got an official certificate for being a doctor okay? Don't sprout nonsense."

He pause for a moment before saying, "And besides, we don't have enough equipment here in our house so we can't fully diagnose her."

His wide and manly back stretch as he reach for a pot holder and skillfully drained the water in the noodles on the sink preparing for a pasta.

"Why can't we send her in a hospital then?" She wondered while cupping up her cheeks on the table looking quite cute and silly. Specially since she have a pallid skin that contrasts perfectly to her round dark eyes.

She's quite a looker actually. She looks like a doll.

"Stupid, don't you think I haven't done that?"

He gently knocks off her head while chuckling.

Lavina scowled as she touch her head.

"Ouch brother, are you mad?"

'He's always treating me like a kid. But I'm not a kid anymore! I'm obviously a grown-up lady!'

"I tried that but..."

Then he remembered what happened that day.

--------

Flashback:

"Oh that stinks!"

Someone said that as she pinched her nose and tries to wave off the foul smell.

"Jesus! How could someone be that high and jumped off on a canal?"

"I don't think so, I think she's mad. Basically crazy! Tsk tsk tsk."

"Maybe, she's trying to kill herself by drowning in a canal? Haha!"

"Hey! Can you stop dawding and gossiping there and help that lady?"

A man said that as he bravely scold the people.

"Heh! What a hypocrite! What? What can you do about it? If you wanted to help her then go and help her. It's not like we're stopping you from doing it right?!"

"Yeah, that's right!"

"Go and help her then, we're nothing but ladies. We can't afford to sacrifice our precious skin and clothes for a stranger."

"Tch, what a heartless bunch of people."

"What's happening?"The man asked and that man is Lavian. Trying to part off the crowd.

The one who bravely scolded the people out there answered him, "There's a lady in there." Then he pointed at unconscious Shin Ah whose butt is sticking off of the ground.

"Dunno what's gotten into her fucking mind that she decided to go swimming in a canal."

Lavian looks at Shin Ah who's covered with black substances. Catatonically, he reach his right hand towards his pocket. And with a phone in his hand, he unblinkingly he dialed the closest hospital's number.

"Hello? We're at xx street... Yes... There's a woman who's unconscious... Thank you, okay, bye."

The horde gossiping people backs off when they noticed that there's nothing fun to blab anymore.

Only Lavian, the brave guy and other people who's sincerely worried about the lady was left behind.

Not later on, an ambulance came and the rescue team quickly gets the stretcher.

"Are you the one who called? What–"

The personnel was distrupted when she smelled something disgusting. She turns around and saw them bringing the woman in the stretcher. A woman covered in a black liquid.

'This motherf*beep*! Of all places, why did he call our hospital?!'

'Anyway, since it's our duty and we were paid to do this sht, then why not? Agh, let's blame it on our bad luck.'

They briskly got on the ambulance while Lavian decided to follow them since he's the one who called them.

And he's kinda worried for the girl.

Thank god that he doesn't have something to do and was free for that day though he promised to go home quickly to his sister.

Nevermind, he could just call her and say that something came up on his end.

Minutes came by and passed, they reached the hospital.

While Shin Ah was attended by the medical personnel, Lavian was called upon and was asked.

"What's your relationship with the patient? Are you the boyfriend or not?"

Lavian coughed violently and said, "Yes–I-I mean no, I'm just a stranger and a good samaritan. I just happened to passed by...cough...yeah."

Still coughing, he tapped his chest.

He said it so adamantly as if afraid that someone mistook him as that lady's boyfriend.

"Need a water sir?"

The nurse asked him, while coyly putting behind her hair on the back of her ear.

'Gawd, what a hottie!! Hahaha! I'm sure someone is dying of envy of me right now huh? And he's not taken! Kyaa~'

She slyly looked behind at the back of Lavian and saw them. With jealous gazes.

She evilly grinned.

He chivarously chuckled and said, "No, no, no thanks! Alright can I go now?"

"Oh sir, can you leave your phone number?"

And the nurse added, "In case something happens to the patient."

She looked at him with those hopeful eyes that shines so brightly like a hundred megawatt bulb.

"Haha okay."

Then he quickly writes off his phone number on a piece of paper that the nurse got for him and leave.

"Wait! Then who'll settle the bill?"

A doctor asked him.

"Doc Luis, that man just said that he doesn't know her. "

The nurse said this as she looked at the disappearing back of the guy.

"Sigh. Do you think we're doing a charity? We can't find something that can prove her identity so how could we notify the patient's family?"

"How about we seek help to the police? They can easily look for someone with her fingerprint right?"

"Yeah, we just did that. We're waiting for the result though." Another doctor said as he sips his coffe.

The doctor and the nurse looks at him skeptically.

"When did you get in here?"

"Yeah, when did you get in here? Are you a fcking spirit or something?"

"No dude I just...."

And the topic successfully diverted and they soon forgot what they were talking about in the first place as they happily chatted.
