Chapter 2 - Domineering Ross Heiress

The lady's irritated gaze was fixated on the man clad in decent clothing sitting in front of her, wearing specs he was blabbering quite contrary to his appearance. She could not bear him any more than the past ten minutes for neglecting the table manners on their first date, which of course seemed to be arranged because the woman was still wearing her working attire.

A waitress approached them both hesitantly wearing a professional smile on her youthful face, as she questioned the lady once again silently praying for receiving some merciful attention.

"Would you like something else, ma'am?"

Her mannerism held a cautious tone which was polite, of course, she needed to abide by the working rules.

Still it was becoming impossible to reduce the terror of the unusual customer, due to her orange suit and maroon shirt underneath she seemed no less than an ordinary woman; her bright clothing failed to suppress the chilling vibes she was oozing with those black shades, unusually calmness and crossed legs.

The intrusion of the waitress and the man's constant gibberish talk forced the lady to frown in irritation and she raised her left eyebrow. The crooked thin trail of neatly trimmed hair popped 'its head up' and became visible from behind her black shades.

The chilled aura oozing woman was still wearing the shades in those four compressed concrete walls of the restaurant, where the sunlight was not daring to peek let alone the rays to fall onto her directly.

"No, thank you."

The woman completely neglected the average looking cocky man sitting in front of her, who seemed to be some aristocratic born man with a golden spoon. The lady put off her shades revealing silver dazzling almond shaped eyes, placing them on the table and rattled out a black card inscribed with golden words.

"Here take it and wrap up all the bill under my name."

The waitress took the card with a shaky hand and haphazardly rushed towards the cash counter, the name popped up on the screen which increased her sweating that she cursed herself inwardly.

'Holy fuck! She is Ava Ross!'

Hereby I ask you, how the heck she became stuck with such a clumsy man, who did not even know that women fall for bright and witty personalities?

"Bill under your name? B- but why?"

The man placed the spoon covered in molten chocolate on the table mat which did not go unnoticed by Ava, his fashionista ass perhaps was unaware that how he was making a fool out of himself. A stunned expression was creased on his face which forced other comrades to gasp for a moment, all the eyes present in that hall turned towards the contrasting couple.

"And what do you mean by paying the bill beforehand?"

The man tucked his back with the chair while the molten chocolate dripped down on the white mat, the mere sight of ignoring the table manners infuriated her but how could she simply vent out anger on him.

The rich man raked through his hair and dared to bombard another question at Ava, his voice held a confident tone as if he would not get rejected.

"By any chance do you dare to insult me by that attempt?"

Ava Ross settled him with a deadly scowl as she lifted her flickering orbs from the spoon towards his direction, just a glare and the man gulped down his fear; only her name was enough to make people crawl and hide in the mouse holes!

A brief lopsided grin graced her cherry tainted lips as Ava stood up simultaneously a loud gasp reverberated in the hall and other customers averted their eyes.

"Your guess is accurate, Mr Wells. I'm leaving."

An ideal date and to meet a perfect partner via an arranged meet up by parents, it only happens in the movies and certainly the life of Ava Ross was not a romantic tale. Well, as for workaholic people like her, yes, the occupied and neat freaks have always remained single! Of course and unless the destiny takes some mercy upon them and grants a loving and patient partner, who could bear their mood swings and rants.

After rejecting seven men before that poor soul, Mr Wells, all because of petty reasons, indeed the heiress was a hopeless case.

The man smiled mockingly at her and placed his elbows on the table, in the attempt of reaching towards the brown sugar packet as he continued boldly.

"I believe you are fully aware that I can bring the Ross empire down, if you dare to leave by insulting me."

Unknown to the poor thing that he dared to commit three blunders within those twenty minutes, first of neglecting table manners and the other that his tie was popping its head into the tea cup for a swimming, lastly he attempted a wrong move to threaten the daredevil woman!

Ava had earlier scoffed at his appearance, rolled her eyes upon his 'no sense of fashion' attire, which was yelling to her to run without wasting any of her precious minute on him.

"Perhaps you haven't acknowledged your position, Mr Wells, I have the authority and power to deprive you of the recent deal."

The lady let out an evil chuckle and a lopsided smirk added perfect expression to aid her threat which was definitely not hollow, undoubtedly the man had registered that she was not an easy woman to deal with and was exactly what rumours had to say about her.

"What the hell! Leave, you freaking devil!"

Mr Wells shouted on the top of his lungs while Ava Ross simply smiled and immediately shot up from her seat, the man's yelling had garnered the attention of other patrons.

She unfolded her arms, grabbed her bag and walked up to the cash counter with a confident gait. The cashier glanced at Ava with an admiring stare while handing over the card to the heiress, who dashed out of the restaurant leaving every single person in a daze.

No wonder she was the eldest child of the USA mafia king, Ronan Ross and Amaris Russell, who also belonged to an influential Russian family.

The massively stretched villa felt the audible footsteps of black shoes as soon as the grimly dressed man made his not-so-fancy appearance. His face showed utter tiredness and irritation as he managed to push himself through the silent and dimly lit arcade, the golden lights were illuminating the whole villa but perhaps his life was devoid of the required 'fairy light.'

Passing through the spiral staircase which rested in one corner, among the beige shaded walls the man reached the upper floor. His designer grey suit was totally shrieking about his wealth and the resplendent villa was a proof to his hardworking nature, although one could clearly acknowledge the missing things and unfulfilled wishes of the man too.

He halted in front of the door, in the midst of inaudible atmosphere the only thing which could be heard was his heavy breath. The long strands of hair had became wet along with temples, his cold bkack gems which seemed like endless black holes having the magnetic tendency to attract anyone towards him.

Perhaps it was no wonder that the name 'Ko Nan Do' was enough to stir a turmoil flutter within every woman's heart, initiating a battle between sane and insanity!

Nan Do loosened his black tie and pushed himself in the carpeted arcade to reach his desired destination, a comfy room for others but a hell for him; a place where voices yelled at him and darkness was waiting to engulf him.

His tired face had numerous complaints but he had no one to listen him, maybe he had enough of the day and the gibberish of his men, of course who would take such a nuisance the whole day which also hinted that perhaps he was some aristocratic blood.

The man placed his right hand on the door handle and pushed it, that the mere wooden door opened a jar producing a sound in the hushed room.

The mysterious man pushed himself into the bed and stared at the whitewashed roof blankly, his mind was still wandering upon the thoughts of a particular person. How could possibly a strong man like him start to think about a woman, perhaps he was actually smitten by the temptress!

"How are you doing, Ava?"

Looking heavenwards he mumbled to himself with soft, admirable expressions as something flickered in his eyes which was unexplainable and unpredictable.

I mean after all there was no one who could possibly claim to know and understand the extravagantly popular and insanely rich multimillionaire.

Ko Nan Do, the name to which women wanted to cling and to get laid by him...was lacking one thing, the woman he had adored, Ava Ross.
