These days, Russel tried to absorb everything he needed to learn so he can help Gian with his plans. But to achieve it, he needed Gian to read the documents for him out loud. It's a good thing that Russel has a sharp memory. He can easily remember and memorized a different information as long as he focused on it.
Gian also answered Russel's questions patiently. He knows that Russel has the capability to help him with his plans. But there was also a deeper reason behind it. Gian already trusted this mysterious pen.
Russel, although he's only a non-living thing on appearance, treats him differently. Russel never treated him as if he's a weak child needed to be coaxed every time. He never doubted him if he can do any tasks, but instead, Russel always encourages him to do it. And the way he spoke of him gave Gian the vibe that he's being honest with him.
Russel didn't know what Gian's thoughts about him. He was focused on helping Gian. His reason behind it was his selfishness. Russel died without accomplishing anything. He didn't even have a chance to officially end the story of his book series. He regretted not to finish it when he still had a chance.
So Russel decided to accomplish something good in this world. Since Femora asked him to help Gian, then he will do it. Russel will help Gian in every way he can and nothing can stop him, even if he's only a pen. If Gian can achieve his plans, then Russel will be at ease thinking that he at least accomplished something on his own.
A whole week passed and Russel already knew the situation completely. Russel feels like he's in a world of fantasy because there was a real King and Queen in this land. Not only that, the people who have a high status in society lives in a mansion and they regularly have a ball where girls wear those gowns that looks like a colorful cupcake and boys wears a coat and boots.
As a former human who experienced a life where technology was already part of his daily life, Russel can't help but to be amazed by these things. It's a pity that he was only a pen who can't move on his own.

Frederick returns to their mansion after a week of inspection in their territories. When Gian saw him downstairs, he can't help but to wonder what happened to his father. Frederick looks so tired and haggard. His father is still wearing a neat and noble clothes, but Gian can see a light shade of black under his father's eyes.
"Welcome home, father." Gian said. Frederick stops from his track to look at his youngest son.
"Thank you. We'll talk later. I will just finish signing some documents in my office." Frederick said before walking straight towards his office.
"Tell me. What kind of work your father was doing all this time?" Russel said, who was placed in Gian's breast pocket.
"As you know, my father is the current head of our family. He makes the important decisions in regards of our territories in different areas. He also supervises our businesses and manage our trading business in another country."
"I see. Your father worked like he's a president of a country." Russel said,
"President?"
"Hmm... It's a similar position with the King in this country."
"That's impossible." Gian disagreed. "If my father is already busy in your perspective, then King Johannes is busier than my father in every way."
"Okay. If you say so." Russel said, not planning to refute his words. "So where are we going?"
"We'll visit to a jewelry shop. I want to order a personalized box where I can put you. It would be an inconvenience for the both of us if I'll always place you on top of my bed."
"That's good. Placed the softest cotton you'll find inside the box, got it? I don't want to have any scratches on my smooth surface."
"For a simple pen like you, you're quite demanding." Gian commented before sighing. Gian is about to step outside of their mansion when Butler Del stops him.
"Young Master Gian, may I ask where are you going?" Butler Del politely said, but his posture and attitude speaks a different meaning.
"I'll visit the jewelry shop in town for a while. I want to order a new cravat and brooch."
"I understand, young master. But unfortunately, I can't allow you to go."
Gian frowns when their head butler wants to stop him.
"Your doctor informed me that you should not exhaust your body too much or else, you will have another high fever. Riding a carriage is also tiring. I'm afraid you'll collapse and no one will help you."
"I'm fine. I don't feel sick today. I'll be quick and return as soon as possible."
"Young Master Gian, please listen to this old butler. I'm just purely worried about your health."
Gian looks at Butler Del with a serious look. He is too overprotective when it comes to his safety and health. Gian knows that the old man is just doing his duties, but it's still irritating.
"What's going on here?"
Gian looks at the door and see his older brother. Viel just arrived and remove his coat and the sword tied around his waist. Butler Del quickly attends to Viel and holds his cape and sword. Then Viel stand next to Gian.
"What's happening here? Why are you standing near the door?"
"I want to go out." Gian said. "I'll be quick."
"Rejected."
"What?"
"You can't go out today. The weather is too hot and a bunch of thieves is wandering in town."
"And how did you know that?" Gian asked suspiciously.
"Because I just dealt with them a few hours ago before I got here."
"Then accompany me." Gian said. He's still not admitting defeat.
"I don't want to. I'm so tired."
"Young Master Gian, please listen to us. We are just concerned about you. Please understand." Butler Del butted in and bows his head at Gian. "If you want, I can call for the owner of jewelry shop to go in the mansion. You don't have to personally visit them."
"See? Butler Del will call the shop owner for you." Viel said. "Next time, I'll accompany you in town when the weather is good."
"No need." Gian said flatly. It's obvious that he's mad based on his expression. "Ask for the jeweler to come here and call me when he arrives."
Gian didn't wait for the two of them to say another word before he climb the stairs. Viel stares at Gian's figure until he can't him anymore.
"Butler Del, give my instruction to my knights later to guard the mansion. Tell them to stop Gian if he plans to go out again without my permission." Viel said with a serious voice.
"I understand, Young Master Viel." Butler Del said and bows his head at him. "Also, the Marquis was back and signing some documents in his office."
"I see. I'll talk with him first."
Then Viel walks towards his father's office to discuss some important things.

"You are really a beloved child in this mansion." Russel suddenly said.
Gian pinched the bridge of his nose and lay down on his bed. He's very annoyed that they always want him to stay in his room. Gian already knows that he's weak, but they should not treat him like an invalid patient who can't do anything alone.
"They're just treating me like a child." Gian bitterly said.
"It's not really good. If it's always like this, then how can you make a connection with the people in your society?"
Russel thinks it's weird. Gian has a weak body since birth. But he should not be treated like that, right? They should at least let him go out sometimes and breath some fresh air or to walk under the sun. If Russel is in Gian's place, Russel had already made a thousand of plans to sneak out of this mansion.
"If that will happen, then I'll sneak out of our mansion." Gian said. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right this time."
"Dude, that's the spirit! I'll support you!"
Russel is actually surprised. He thought Gian is a man who always sticks to the rules. Who would have thought that Gian will really think of sneaking out from their mansion if they would really not allow him to go out. But still, Russel will support this decision.
Gian nods his head. Suddenly, a maid knocks on the door and inform him to go to his father's office. Marquis Cres Val said that they have to discuss something important.
