My hands were securely placed in the pockets of my trousers, rubbing my fingers together. A calming gesture I had acquired somewhere along the way. I felt her before I saw her.

I had seen her a few times in school between classes, always giggling with her fucking friends. She'd caught me staring at her on more than one occasion and would avoid coming my way. I'd always look away, never acknowledging her, turning and walking in the opposite direction. I knew she wants nothing to do with me.
