Chapter 1 - Summoning for a Better Future

He was powerless. It's been 3 month, and the isolation was getting to Takuru.

"This was the right choice..."

Due to his sacrifice, Onoe was able to live a normal life. He is satisfied.

Letters came and go, but he missed his friends, his family. The only person he met with regularly was Mio for medical checkups. Afterall, who would allow people to visit an alleged psychotic killer.

Though I do not regret my choices, I still childishly yearn for a purpose.

"I want to live." A light began to envelop Takuru, similar to the earthquake that granted his wish.

It was on that day, the prisoner Takuru vanished from the prison.

Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! Itou mentally raged.

My best friend was left to rot in prison while someone like me, has a chance.

Even though I killed Yui...

Aaauuuggghhh!

When Yuto told me the news, I couldn't stop crying. Takuru, the killer? He is too kind to be suffering from this fate. If I was strong enough to resist, maybe things wouldn't have gone this far.

When I heard about Onoe's involvement, I felt betrayed. I know I should respect Takuru's wishes, but I cannot fathom being friends with that person. I can only tolerate her existence as she remembers nothing and is now innocent.

I can only feel respect for Takuru to be so kind.

"I swear no matter what, I will be a loyal friend to you Takuru!" A light enveloped Itou and he vanished from the detention cell.

Its been hard, but our new caretaker has been so kind to us. She has also adopted and protected us from the vultures.

So this was a genuine gaurdians... I recoil when I remembered the monster we once called dad.

Our caretaker is also a police woman and I feel that we could rely on her.

This way, my younger brother doesn't need to worry about us.

Senri laments about the fate of her beloved Takuru. Even though his friends and family may suffer due to their involvement with him, he suffers the most. He is too kind that way.

She could only continue to write letters to Takuru to alleviate his worries.

Her eyes moistened. These letters aren't enough. I want to see him. I want to be with him. I want him to be happy.

"Please bring Takuru back to me." Like an answer to her prayers, a light envelopes her.

Though she was technically older by 2 years, she respected Takuru a great deal. She wonders if this was what it was like to have a little brother.

Mio was a scientist and a sinner of this world. She had once been involved with the experimentation on gigalomaniacs and the girl she operated on thanks haunt her to this day. She could only move forward to prevent another travesty like this from occuring.

But even so, she feels she did not do enough for her kohais. At most she could deliver best wishes to Takuru. Him thanking her, overlaps with the girl's image.

She met up with Shinjou to research if there was any loopholes to exploit to improve his QoL even by a modicum, but there was no luck. As a neurologist, I can tell that this life was getting to him.

I don't want another person I know to become a victim.

"I want to help Takuru and his friends more." It was then a light enveloped her.

For the next few days, there was a lot of buzz generated about the missing people. Some theorized the new gen murders would start anew, but no such events occurred. The 4 people seem to have vanished from the face of the Earth.

Their friends and family were deeply worried, but realized that they were probably together and with Takuru. This calmed them down slightly. Fortunately, the caretaker/mother was there to take care of the younger siblings.

This is probably one of the few summoning that worked out for the better.

"Welcome heroes of prophecy. Please save this kingdom of ours from a great evil!" a group robed figure greeted the four summons.
