Chapter 120 - Chapter 120. Short encounter with the Southern Alliance

Everyone stared at the duo in extreme interest.

The older voice came from an outstandingly handsome boy that every king wished for their son to look like. The only weird thing about the boy was his outfit... He was wearing a black hoodie with dark blue highlights that seemed to glow every once in a while and to go with that, he was wearing navy blue harem pants.

And the younger voice came from a very handsome that was just lacking due to age to the boy on his left. The strange thing here was that the boy looked way too young to be here...

Lex immediately scanned the hall to look around and he could not help but shake his head when he saw that the Drunken Immortal was not here yet, he sighed and quietly whispered to Leo, "Looks like there will be trouble..."

"Who let you in here?!" a voice loudly shouted, seemingly filled with anger and disbelief.

'Here we go again...' thought Leo as he prepared himself to respond and as he turned to the source of the voice, he was met by a guy who was around the same height as him with an extremely long and pointy nose. His eyes were filled with contempt as if he was looking at easy prey as he slowly walked over to the boys while dragging his long robe across the floor.

"The guards?" Lex answered for Leo and a very confused look appeared on his face, "Did you not come in here through the guards?"

"Haha! What a joke! Do you not know that this is an exclusive event and that only people with an invitation are allowed to enter?" the voice questioned in a very ridiculing tone.

"Yea, duh... The guards took a look at my invitation. Do you want to have a look?" Leo asked as he took out the invitation and handed it to the man.

"Damn! This invitation is very well faked, it has to be otherwise why would the Jade Emperor himself invite such nobodies?" the man took the invitation and acted ass if he was cleanly observing it. He ripped up the invitation and threw it across the floor at the duo.

"Do you know the punishment for impeding onto the Jade Palace without permission?!" the man roared in a very condescending tone.

"Hold up," Leo spoke.

"Eh?" the man froze in confusion.

"Okay, so this place belongs to the Jade Emperor. So shouldn't he be the one to pass on this judgement to me? What right do you have to do that in his stead?" Leo asked as he played along with the man.

"You dare to question me?! I am Kofi Grandinz, one of the great cultivators, hailing from the Southern Alliance, that were selected to fight in this year's Sacred Silk Ceremony, is that not enough for a simple useless human being who decided to use a fake invitation?"

"Kofi, what wrong?" another man walked out, in luxurious clothes that were a lot more eye-catching.

'He must be a king..." Leo thought as he felt a whole different air about the man in front of him.

"Yo, your majesty. These boys got into the party with a fake invitation and now they are being difficult and refusing to leave the hall by themselves," the initial guy who seemed to be named Kofi told the man.

Hearing this, the king who had just walked over turned to the duo and stared at them with a judgemental gaze as he condescendingly spoke, "Young men, it is not wise to fake a party invitation. do you not know who's banquet this is?"

However, Lex did not pay him any mind and just let out an annoyed sigh as he was enjoying all the scolding that he got from all these dumb adults.

"I'm tired of this," Leo mumbled as he took a step forward and glared at the two men as he shouted, "That party invitation was not fake! How can you guys, full-grown adults, just jump to conclusions already? Are you guys dumb or something?"

Caught offguard by Lex's sudden response, the two men froze for a few seconds before they started laughing hysterically.

"Sigh..." Leo breath out an annoyed sigh as he slapped the back of Lex's head lightly as he spoke, "Now you've done it..."

"Hey-" Lex exclaimed as he turned around towards Leo to respond but before he could utter out any words, he suddenly felt as if his body was pushed from his back and a strong gust of explosive wind followed as his clothes fluttered for a split second as ultimately lost balance and he immediately raised his hands to protect him from falling on to the ground... but the sensation of him hitting the hard clean floor never came.

Eh?

Confused, Lex opened his eyes, only to see that his face was about twenty inches from meeting the floor. He quickly turned his head and saw what had happened in that split second.

Kofi was standing about three feet away from where he was and his fist had been swung out in the place where Lex's face would've been but instead Lex was currently in an almost tipped over position with the back of his collar currently being held by Leo who had stopped him from falling. Leo face immediately turned frosty as he coldly said, "I'm afraid you chose the wrong people to mess with."

"Tch! Impressive, you were able to dodge that. It looks like there's more to you than meets the eye," Kofi spoke but before he could add any more remarks, a voice sounded behind him.

"How careless..." Leo whispered so that only Kofi could hear him and he delivered a powerful side kick in the blink of an eye.

A loud impact sounded as Kofi could be seen pushed back but he had just managed to turn around in time to raise his hands to block most of the impact for himself but it did not stop all the impact as he felt pain on his arms.

A shocked silence descended on the hall as everyone were watching the situation were shocked to their core from the strength that was delivered from such a simple kick from such a simple young man. So much, that a certain man, who had escape to the balcony to get some peace was drawn back into the hall as he became curious when he realized that there was a long silence in the hall.

'Crap! Is the Jade Emperor already here?' the man thought as he panicked and ran back into the hall.

"At least you were able to block that," Leo let out a sigh as he shifted his attention to the luxuriously dressed man, "I'm presuming that you are one of the many kings of the Southern Alliance, you should take better care of your people."

"You dare to talk to my king that way. You've got some guts to dare to do that," Kofi spoke as he shook his arms to relieve the pain and he began to walk towards Leo, this time with a cold smile on his face.

"Kofi!" the king called out, bringing Kofi's advance to a halt. His eyes staring at Leo carefully as he asked, "You don't seem to be lying, tell me, if you truly did have an invitation, then which team are you a part of?"

"Leo!" another loud shouted sounded again, but this time it was from someone that Leo knew.

Once Edgar had made his way through the crowds, he finally was able to get a good look at the scene and his face dropped in shock as he saw Leo having a standoff with a king. He immediately panicked and walked over them. He then stopped before the Southern King and apologized, "I'm incredibly sorry for the trouble, Omari. This is Leo. He's my chosen champion from the Lapis kingdom."

Hearing this declaration, everyone in the hall froze even more...

"What a joke. How could anything good come out from the Lapis Kingdom? I bet you hired him from another empire under our eyes," Omari laughed as he did not believe it. It was just absurd to think that such a talented person could come out from the weakest kingdom in the whole continent.

"Damn... You guys seem to really be against the Lapis King. Well too bad for you, I'm from the Lapis Kingdom, born and raised there. I think this should be enough to prove that my invitation was indeed valid. So please excuse me," Leo spoke up for the Lapis King and then walked off with Edgar and Lex but before they could, they were stopped by Kofi who stood in their path.

"Did I say that you could leave?" Omari asked as an angry look appeared on his face.

"Huh? Is there a rule that we need to ask you for permission to leave?" Leo asked with ridicule present on his face.

"You need to make up for the damage that you did to my champion," Omari demanded as a tick mark appeared on the side of his face.

"Are you being serious? It's not my fault that he was so weak and in case you didn't see, he was the one to make the first strike, we just responded with self-defence," Leo defended himself.

"Tch!" Omari let out a frustrated grunt as he realized that he was indeed in the wrong in his situation.

"You see?" Leo saw the realization on the king's face but he still turned to Kofi and threw him a vial, "Hey dude, Kofi, was it? Drink that, it should heal you right up. Don't ever aim for my brother again."

Having said this, the duo now became a trio and they left the scene to have a talk with themselves but then another batch of cultivators met with them.

But this time, it was an expected meeting.

'It was inevitable,' thought Leo.

'Those ugly muscle hunks,' thought Lex.

'He actually came...' Edgar thought in extreme relief as he now felt so comfortable that might dream of being on cloud nine tonight.
