Xicue was bad but it wasn't the worst.
It made avoiding demons in the area a lot easier. The Sect that once took care of this territory had been split. One half of the old Thunderous Cloud Sect had eagerly cast away their morals to take up the demonic arts and follow the Empress in her campaigns.
They were hardly alone in this, as there were many Sects that chose to bow down to the Empress in hopes of winning her favor, in hopes of securing a means to survive.
But the Thunderous Cloud Sect was not united in this decision and there was a small part of the sect that escaped the clasp of the demon empress. It was said that they became a small group of vigilantes that scoured the lands, helping those in need. Though the Empress had obviously sought for their destruction, there had been rumors that this small group still persists to this day. It's a wonder that they have survived for so long…
