Zeev POV
"This is a drug-it's not who we were expecting." Ash remarked.
"No." I growled.
"Well met Demon." A soft feminine voice spoke. A woman in dark clothing came into view, she looked surprised. "Oh, I didn't know there would be two of you."
"What do you want, witch?" Ash asked lazily.
"I'm not here for you, Incubus." The witch dismissed Ash. "I'm here for him." She pointed at me.
"Why?" I asked flatly.
"You probably don't know me, but not too long ago, you killed my husband. Then I enlisted a little aid of my own." She waved an arm to her right and a glow informed Ash and I exactly what we were up against.
"Ah shit-Angel." Ash griped. "Is it a Fallen?"
"Can't tell yet. Time to go, that Angel will destroy this whole building without a second thought."
"Yup." Responded Ash and we stepped together into a deserted field not too far from the store.
"What do we do with Harlee?" Ash asked desperately, shifting to Demon Form.
"They're after me. Do you think you can watch her?" I asked, allowing myself to shift as well.
"What if it's another Arch Angel? Do you have enough power?" Ash worried.
"I don't know!" I yelled as the glow began again. "Give me a boost if you're that worried about it!" Ash growled and sank their fangs into my ankle where the mark would be if it wasn't covered with leathery skin. I felt a jolt of ice shoot through me.
"You poisonous snake-you couldn't have done that more gently?!" I snarled as the glow solidified and the Angel and woman walked out of it.
"Ah, it's you." The Angel said softly in a musical voice.
"Ah Fuck." I cursed.
"Friend of yours?" Ash asked sarcastically.
"An old, shall we call her Captain?" I answered, not taking my eyes off her.
"Oh shit." Ash responded.
"Yeah." I answered.
Harlee POV
There was so much noise when I woke up. Snarling and roaring. Something cold was wrapped around me, trembling, growling, occasionally jerking. I was bleeding and hurting. Something was wrong with me, I was seeing double. I was kneeling on the ground, watching Ash try to fend off a woman who was attacking them, all while Ash was also wrapped around.. me..
"Ash, Zeev.." I croaked.
"Mistress!" Ash jerked and uncoiled slightly.
"Lemme out Ash." I complained.
"Mistress I can't! There's-" Another jerk and lunge.
"I see it, but Zeev, he's hurt, and that Angel has him trapped." I complained. Please, I have to help him!"
"I'm going to do something drastic Mistress." Ash told me and I felt Ash coil their body before releasing me, suddenly hurling me through space with a abrupt spring. I appeared again, right beside Zee, tumbling into him, falling into his shadow Form.
"Harlee!" was the last thing I heard before everything faded out again.
Zeev POV
This Angel had the upper hand. She knew my True Name and was using it to control me. Meanwhile, the witch was going after Harlee. They intended to destroy us completely. I saw Ash curl around Harlee to protect her, so I focused on fighting the Angel. When Harlee woke up, the Angel had badly wounded me and was forcing me to kneel. She intended to run me through. I was growling, struggling to stand up, clutching my wounded chest as the weight of my True Name kept me down. I was losing Form as I battle for control, the shadows surrounding my Demon Form as I fought harder, watching as the Angel dove at me, a Blade in each hand. I was determined not to die here, it would end Harlee as well, and I WOULD NOT let that happen!
Suddenly, Harlee was hurtling at me, and I wasn't able to concentrate anymore. She fell INTO me, not just hit me, but literally fell into my broken Form and I screamed at the unexpected assault of having a a human tumble directly into my Core.
"Harlee!" I yelled as I felt my body break along the wound in my chest. Aw shit-what was going to happen to her? She balled up as her flesh touched my heart and began to melt from her frame. I didn't think the screaming would stop, and I don't know which of us screamed louder. Neither of us was prepared for this, and as we broke apart and we reforged, our body maintained a sex this time, because we had to, we brought along an extra passenger for the ride.
The Angel was staring at us coldly.
"I'd heard about this. 'The Abomination', they call you. The cast out from Hell and Heaven alike." The Angel remarked scornfully. We were too busy stroking a finger down our stomach to care. What an interesting development. Zeev had thought for certain this sort of forced merge would cause a miscarriage, but it looked as though the Nephilim adapted to the new Form with ease, recognizing the soul and Demon Core it belonged to.
"If this is your True Form, why do you remain separated?" The Angel asked.
"It's not our True Form. It's one of our many Forms. We just use what feels right at the moment. And in this moment-you have no control over this body." We shrugged. We materialized a white robe and blade of our own and took our stance, relying on Zeev's memories and skills as a fighter. Zeev's memories whispered in our consciousness about this Angel. She was smart, fast, deadly, but she had a weakness: she was cocky. She almost never guarded her back, because she was good, and she knew it, so there was hardly ever cause or need to. We should exploit that somehow. The Angel rushed us, and the battle began.
Harlee POV
Zeev was carrying me. No we were fighting. The Angel sliced our ribs open. I flinched and tried to jump out of the way.
"Don't struggle too much Harlee. I don't want to drop you." Zeev said tiredly.
"Sorry." I responded, trying to drag myself out of the tumble of memories. The Angel. We knew her True Name, but we had waited to use it against her until Ash had an opening. Then Ash rushed her and we coordinated the attack. Ash from behind, us from the front and..
"Zeev..." I gagged and he set me down quickly. I vomited and chunks of undigested meat, bone and blood came up.
"Aww-that's god for the baby." Ash tsked. I gagged again.
"Angel?" I asked, holding on to Zeev. "I think I remember the taste.." Zeev nodded.
"Ash ate the witch." Zeev shrugged as Ash grinned. I dry heaved and Ash put a cool hand to my forehead and pulled back my hair.
"Are we sure this isn't morning sickness?" Ash asked curiously.
"Morning sickness-it's late..afternoon.." I trailed off as I looked around the neighborhood at the sunrise. "Why didn't we transport in?" I asked and Zeev pointedly looked at all three of our clothes. I was wearing Zeev's shirt, which came almost to my knees.
"You wanna try to fit us all in the shower?" Zeev chuckled.
"We're gonna use the water hose!" Ash cheered and I shushed them. I sighed.
"Ok then, let's go." I took three steps and Zeev caught me as I collapsed.
Zeev POV
Ash paced the living room.
"Are you sure she's ok?" Asked again.
"Yeah, sometimes when we merge like that it drains her soul. She used to sleep a lot after every time." I ran my and through my hair.
"Why do you keep doing it if it's putting her in danger?" Ash demanded.
"Hey, you're the one who threw her at me!" I objected.
"I didn't expect you to swallow her!" Ash cried.
"I didn't mean to! That Angel was ripping me apart!" I roared.
"I'm sorry." Ash apologized quietly. I ran my hand through my hair again.
"Yeah-"
"Hey guys, what's going on?" Harlee asked sleepily. She walked around the sofa and plopped down beside me, leaning on me heavily. I wrapped an arm around her and squeezed her tight. Ash sat at her feet and leaned their head against her knee.
"We were just worrying about you." Ash said softly and Harlee ruffled their hair.
"Aww, that's so cute." Harlee replied.
