"You...can...not...fail..." The words ease into her subconscious as she drifts quietly in and out of her dreamstate. "You...are...our...only...hope..." The words seamlessly penetrates her most intimate desires. She feels the wind from the "lips" of this unknown entity. She feels something gently stroking her skin. The unknown entity pauses momentarily to embrace her tattered body. It hisses and blows as it speaks. The whispers send pockets of air through her metallic strands of hair. The mere touch of air makes her exposed skin, bearing wounds, shiver. Her body is very sensitive to most kinds of movement and touch. The being seems to enjoy this fact as it whispers again."You...are... quite...beautiful..."She knows it is nearby. The being slides its clear appendages about her body. This is how it "sees". It uses its appendages to sense the energy and ability of others. It is an invasive being that visits those that rest in the containment room. It is accessing her mental and physical state...checking her readiness for battle. As it glides across her body, it discovers her breast-like plates and can feel a latch of some sort. The being has no eyes but can "see" hidden things on others. A weapon perhaps? It isn't visible to the naked eye. The "latch" seems to open from "inside".
The clear appendages stop short of "opening" this latch. Its body is composed of air and a faint glow of white light. It moves, effortlessly, about her body and checks for imperfections.
It leans into her ear as it tinkers with the "latch".
"What...is...this? This...is...not...c-"
Just then, Kerelia awakens. Her eyes are glowing a fiery red. When red, her eyes can "see" energy signals much like infrared. Her body tingles a bit as she "sees" the eerie figure before her. Turning towards this unknown creature, she snatches away the appendage touching the "latch".
"What ARE you DOING?!?" She questions. The being freezes in shock as it slowly backs away. Enraged, she stands up and screams at the intrusive being.
"Get OUT!!!"
The entity is so startled it jumps through the ceiling as the seal stops spinning to let it through. The crest moves back to its original position. Kerelia looks and notices her crest has stopped spinning as well.
"What was that thing?"
She searches her body and notices her "latch" is cool to the touch. She can feel the entity's energy signature about her body. It's as if it is still touching her. The sudden shout triggers the guardsman to enter her chamber.
(Appearing from a gold smoke)
"Ms.! uhr what's the matter?! Are you alright?!"
The guardsman stammers as he is greeted with her exposed body.
Kerelia grabs the fabric near her to cover up.
"It...it was...SOMETHING...in here...I felt-"
The guardsman quickly turns the other way to give her a sense of privacy. His heart flutters as he adjust his demeanor. He interrupts.
"The Hedin...yes, it seems to prey on inhabitants in this room. We have no remedy for the darn thing but can track it...a little."
"Track it? Where does it lead you?" Kereila covers herself with the tattered clothing before her.
He raises his head and points towards the ceiling.
"Through that seal...but, that it isn't our magic. It's true origin is unknown. The hierarchy would love to know... as would I."
Kerelia touches her crest and notices it's spinning again. It lies just under her left arm safely hidden away from sight. The guardsman noticed a slight glow near there and goes to investigate. Before he does, heavy footfalls can be heard approaching them.
"Tredot! Is that you in there?!"
"Yes sir!" The guardsman straightens up as the being known as Deigus enters.
"You want to explain the noise and your presence here?"
Deigus is half-humanistic and half bull. His head is that of a bull with large golden rings looping through its nose. Its body is muscular as it stands on the hooves of a bull. Its arms and hands are like those of a humanistic. Curly long locks flow on both sides. Scars adorn his physique as he questions the startled guardsman. He wears a toga-like cloth that reveals his mighty build.
"I was, ehr following up on a disturbance I heard. The being was dreaming and then awakened by the Hedin!"
Deigus stops walking abruptly.
"The Hedin, you say?! Have you captured that perverse thing?!"
"No sir... but its energy signature fades into the seal as always."
"I see..."
Deigus stands before Kerelia and looks around a bit. He sniffs the air as he strokes his chin.
"It was here alright. Kerelia, is it?"
"Yes?"
"What just happened? Do you remember anything?" Deigus questioned.
"I felt something...sliding over me."
Embarrassed, she clutches her covers and buries her head.
"Did it do something? A word?" Deigus inquired.
"It speaks in whispers..."
"Hmmm. Where are you from?" Deigus bellows as he examines her.
"A small land near the outskirts of-"
Just then she forgets. A dark shadow slinks to the corner as she tries to find the words.
No one else notices this sudden movement but Kerelia's tracking ability seems heightened. She can see the energy trail left from the unknown stalker.
"Wait!"
Deigus sniffs the air again.
"Something's here! Near that corner there. Show yourself!"
Though delayed, the strange creature's scent has been picked up. Deigus strolls to the corner.
"I may not see you but I smell you JUST fine."
Studying the area, Deigus raises his hands.
"Outta there!"
Deigus swipes at the empty space as the shadow moves to the other side. The guardsmans' great axe begins to glow.
"Well...well now. Something IS in here."
The axe slowly draws energy from the hidden figure. The figure clutches its mouth as the pain starts to make it gurgle in agony.
Deigus taps the ground as its aura-infused blade emerges: the Velmere. The Velmere is an enchanted sword that feeds on dark energy. This includes shadows, evil beings and dark light: an energy that creates fissures in the dark lands.
He is the head guardsman. Their group is famous for their weapons' abilities to root out dark energies.
"Looks like you got a bite, Tredot. Don't lose it. I'm gonna trap it!"
"Sounds good..."
Tredot extends his axe several feet as it draws more energy. The axe glows brightly as a small silhouette emerges.
"There...by the beam on the right."
"I see it...I see it. Velmere!" Deigus stands before his sword that protrudes from the floor. Ready to be used, Deigus raises his mighty sword.
"Reveal true darkness!!"
He strikes the earth as the room shakes violently.
The room grows dark but the creature glows a white hot. It cannot move due to its energy being drained as the two slowly approach.
A great red spot moves along its "body" as Deigus reclaims his sword. Excited, Deigus cast his instructions.
"That! Grab it!" He commands.
The red spot tries to leave the now-still body. It seems to be independent of the host it is trying to flee.
"Tredot! Use your enclosure spell!"
Tredot's eyes flicker as the space around the invader shakes. His breath exudes a golden mist as a small golden orb engulfs the trespasser. The red being is trapped and no longer moves. It feels confident that nothing can reach it now.
Deigus returns his sword to the void that brought it as the room is as it was before.
"Shall I, sir?"
Deigus smiles and nods. He takes a step back and prepares to collect the strange creature. The being looks at the two but forgot about Tredot's warping ability.
He swoops in and out of the golden bubble. Grabbing his prey along the way, Deigus puts out his hand. A small golden bubble is around the being as Tredot hands it to Deigus.
"Well, one outta two aint bad!" Deigus jokes.
The two laugh and prepare to leave. Before setting out, the two formally introduce themselves.
"Listen, I'm Deigus and this here's Tredot. If you need anything just holler. We'll come a runnin'. Tredot, can you leave one of your orbs for this creature?"
Tredot blushes a bit. Still admiring her beauty.
"If she wants?"
"Yes! Uh, thank you." Kerelia says shyly.
Tredot encompasses Kerelia's bedding area with a large golden globe.
"Nothing gets in or out. If you need something, we will be here for you. Sleep well, Kerelia."
Tredot opens a warp cloud for Deigus as the two walk through.
Kerelia, feeling safe, slowly drifts off to sleep. Her mind tries to recall the events before the beings intruded…
The strange spell, the invasive being, the two guardsmen, her crest and the room itself. Wondrous indeed. Why does her crest and the magic within these chambers share a connection unknown to her and her captors? What is the thing that visits and where does it come from? Her mind began to ramble about. The answers not coming fast enough to soothe the questions she had. The comforting sound, from her enclosure, gave her a chance to reflect.
Just then, she could hear odd whirling and popping noises coming from the ceiling. It was, as if, something was creeping through the brush and woods. The sounds frightened her for a moment, as she went to sleep. The strong spell kept her until the next day as she slowly opened her eyes. "Tredot. We won't know which way to go until the fight starts. We MUST be in sync with each other's movements! One misstep could be a fatal flaw for us all."Deigus. I don't think we've been eaten. I think this is just another proving ground. Like another level if you will. Looks like we gained experience!" Tredot gestures by pointing at his biometrics. He noticed that his stats for armor, defensive magic, chain magic, offensive magic, aura stamina and health have all increased by at least three points.
