My name is Areum. My life was like any other girls life. I go to school, come home, study and spoil myself a little bit. My dad owns a small pharmacy out of the city. On summer days I work there. My life was already set out for me. I didn't need to focus on anything else except what I had.
On the 10th floor of a small apartment complex I lived. I waited. I waited for a call. Dad was working overtime tonight. I looked upon the city I grew up in; Busan. In that just a moment my life would changed forever.
A flash of light struck a nearby building. The lights flickered off in a ripple. It's started to rain. Then it started to pour. It was like something out of a movie. I fell to the floor from shock and stayed there. My phone rang and I knew the drill.
"Are you ok? I heard the city blacked out! Fill the bath tub, pots,bowls and pans with water before the water stops. I am aware you know where the flashlights and first aid are. There is much traffic. I will not get home anytime soon. Take care! Love you!"
"...Bye"
I did as told and found the flashlights. The rain was pounding. Along with the pounding I heard a "THUMP" ...it came from the rooftop.
They say curiosity killed the cat...
I slowly made my way threw the small stairway. Rain coat and boots on. Flashlight in hand, I opened the door. Scared to get drenched I searched from the door. There was nothing. I hear rustling. I looked further and there I saw a dent in the rose bushes. I watched the bushes as I approached it. A boy.
