None of them spoke.
Ye Ji nervously glanced at her father who was quietly eating. She then faced her mother who was staring at her.
She turned to look at Maria, but she was sweating.
"Umm..." she tried to speak but no words came out.
"Doctor huh?" Byun Tae Ji asked her.
She quietly nodded.
"What kind of?"
"General Surgeon."
"Five years of studies."
"Hmmm...."
"Touching people. Real. Breathing people."
"Hmmm..."
"Okay!"
Ye Ji looked up at her father in shock.
'Did he just say yes?'
"Honey?" Byun Ye Min said in a nervous tone.
Byun Tae Ji just smiled and looked at his daughter. He was the over protective father but his daughter had asked him for something and this could even mean her fear of people might be...better.
"Which university?" he asked his daughter with a smile.
"Ki...King National University." she replied.
The couple looked at each other and smiled. King National University, owned by The Western Family. The place where Ye Min met Tae Ji.
"Alright then, I will talk with the Dean of the University." Ye Min said smiling widely.
Just a moment earlier she was worried about her daughter but now that she knows which university her daughter has chose she couldn't be more proud.
"I would like to live alone." Ye Ji said.
The Byun couple looked at her in shock.
"A place closer to the university."
Ye Ji gulped at that thought. She was shocked by the statement herself. She wanted to say that but she was scared and now she said it.
She didn't want to stay with her family, not because she didn't like them. She didn't want to experience what she experienced in the past.
Knowing from which family she came from she didn't want anyone to know her family.
"I...will order Mr.Kang to find a place for y-" before Tae Ji could complete, she cut him off.
"I will search it myself!" she said calmly.
The two looked at each other and sighed. Their daughter was pretty stubborn and the stubbornness came from both of them.
"You can go but you need to see the Psychiatrist, every month and come home once a month and eat with us." Ye Min said.
Ye Ji looked at her mother. "A...stranger and...together?" she asked.
"Nope, she is my bet friend. You used to see her when you were kids and yes, together."
Ye Ji looked at her father. He smiled warmly and kept his hand in top of her hand.
She flinched and took her hand back. She started sweating, she could feel her heartbeat beating faster as the seconds went by.
"O...Okay!" she said.
The couple smiled happily. This was the longest conversation they had with their daughter after so many years.
"I am done eating." she said and then ran from there.
"Miss!" Maria called her but was too late, Ye Ji had already ran from there.
"Take the plates." Ye Min ordered. Maria nodded and went from there.
"Please God, look over our daughter." Ye Min said closing her eyes.
"She will be fine." Tae Ji said holding her hand.
. . .
Ye Ji ran inside her room and closed the door. She sat on the floor and tucked her legs closer to her chest.
'I can do this. A doctor. Like Mom. I can do it.'
She closed and eyes and then layed on the floor. "Only if I wasn't so scared of people."
It wasn't like she never tried to cure her fear.
She tried it a lot, more than her parents knew. There wasn't a single thing she hadn't tried.
She attended parties, she took therapy, she tried maybe everything, but she was created this way.
A beautiful girl with no flaws but scared of human. She was created for the sake of the main leads.
She was created so that the male lead realises that he has feelings for the female lead.
She felt bad for all the side characters inside every book. She always thought that every story was supposed to revolve around the main characters but she was wrong. She felt sorry, not only for others but for now.
'They must be dating by now.'
