Chapter 73 - Ascending levels I

After three days of struggling, she managed to reach level 1, where everything was made out of deadly gases, so her strength became a bit limited to save oxygen.

The other problem with this level also came from its gases as there was not a single stable point inside. Other than some pillars. Still, they were stable to the point Cyfa was incapable of punching a hole inside; the other issue was that they were incredibly slippery, making it impossible to rest on them.

Without the use of fly, she would have fallen back to the world surface long ago if it weren't for her abilities to fly.

Unlike in the previous level, there was light here, it was coming from above, but it was impossible to determine what was up there.

There was also always falling debris that was melted in the lower layers and became rain to the surface.

A black dot started to get closer to Cyra; it seemed to be a whale-like creature.

System, what's that?

[Analyzing… new incoming creatures]

[Cyan Ghost Whale] [100% Matching]

[Side Note: Run. Hide.]

[Origin: Cyan Ghost Whales are naturally born during a change; their ancestors are sperm whales. During the change, the planet oceans water must have vaporized and were replaced by heavy gases during the process creatures that feed on Gas planktons floating in the air]

[Body Analysis: They kept the sperm whales original body structure, the mutation gave them six pair of sturdy wings on their backs and two pair of smaller wings on their tails]

[Estimated Stats: [Int: 200] [Str: 3000] [E:3000] ]

While Cyra was receiving the information, the Cyan Ghost Whale was already right in front of her, opening its big mouth Cyra was swallowed in a whole.

After being eaten, Cyra began to eat up the whale organs from inside out. As she was eating, she gradually became more assertive.

Even if she could easily survive a fall, she was sure that most of the whale loses its value if it were to fall and would get destroyed by the iron rain.

She started eating up its not so essential organs such as a few of the stomachs, kidney, and a few of its lungs.

At this point, her stats have much risen [Str: 5300.5] [Int:2120.2] [E: 1061.1] [S: 5], and she also knew a lot about this level after spending two years eating.

Only 5 of these beasts existed on the 1st level, and Cyra could find only two types.

There was the already known Cyan Ghost Whale, and the new one was known as Yellow Hydra Snake.

Unlike anything that she has ever seen, the creature had three long snake-like heads resting around each other in a spiral formation.

Their most significant advantage was that they did not need wings as their bodies were floating thanks to their inner balloons that gathered specific gases to keep them in the air.

After she has eaten the first whale, she was aimlessly flying around, waiting for one of the four remaining creatures to eat her, so she could continue getting more robust.

Nine more years passed until Cyra has managed to eat every one of them now. On the surface of the planet rested five ancient beasts, skeletons who were eaten alive by her.

The next thing she did was flying upwards once more. She searched for a mountain and began ascending alongside it.

Soon the mountain started to get wider as if it was holding something. As Cyra gradually went higher, she reached the point where she could no longer see how big the platform was.

Another three days went by, until one day, the gases had become thicker, almost resembling water.

Soon she reached the land, above her, hundreds of power plants were constantly generating lightning upon contract with the liquid it's released a blinding light.

Cyra Now reached level 2; there was no living creature on this level because of the nuclear radiation generated by the bolts.

She quickly passed level 3, where she was confronted with countless metallic buildings and robotic parts.

There was not a single soul in the lower levels, as many aspects made it impossible for humans to exist there, such as the radiation, lack of breathable air, and everything was old; things kept falling apart daily.

The levels were marked on each place in multiple locations. It was not until Cyra reached lvl five that there were no signs of life again.

Soon smaller unrecognizable mammals resembling rabbits were deformed to the point where even the system could not determine their origins or their names.

Since life existed here, Cyra naturally began clearing out the level. Currently, she was dead itself as to where ever she went, not even corpses remained.

It was not until lvl 13 that Cyra has halted her hunt as she discovered a temple in perfect conditions; it looked similar to what she previously saw on the hologram.

Templars were guarding and cleaning the temple. It was a place for those who lost everything and had nowhere else to go. In the gates of hell, they offered the last bits of salvation, in the name of the great god Anchor.

Upon Cyra appearance, every single one of them has tensed up as she came from below; they believe that a hellspawn has left hell to show discord in their world as such, they have drawn their weapons and fixed their eyes on her; they were also clear about what was down there.

Each of them was heavily armed as they were guarding the level. Also, the oxygen was still horrific, so the templars were wearing masks.

Sadly Cyra couldn't stay invisible no matter how she wanted. The environment was entirely against her with the constant smoke and dust. It was simply impossible to stay unnoticed.

She naturally massacred everyone and took everything that was even remotely eatable as her savings were almost empty.

She also gained credit that was automatically transported to her bracelet when the original owner's life signals were gone.

Because she was the closest living with a way to receive the money, The bracelets sent everything to her. She earned [Credit: 5000] from the 300 people who were killed by her.

She also entered the temple, so-called holy ground which was safe, after breaking it open she found light sand flowing in the air, after closer inspection. She realized that it was similar to her light wing sand, it just its quality was worse to the point where you couldn't even tell they were the same material.

Is there anything else besides credits in this bracelet?

[There is, but Host probably won't like it]

Why?

[Opening Bracelet information]

[Bounty: 5 000 000 Credits]

[News: Currently under a search for killing the five titans of the abyss and killing the followers of anchor, stay tuned for more information]

Were those things important?

[They must be the beings that kept the Hawk nightmares under check to avoid them escaping to the higher levels]

Ohh...

Wait, where did the bounty appear?

[The bracelet can determine if its wearer actions are good or bad, in this case killing the titans seems to be catastrophic regarding the planet ecosystem]

After clearing the temple, Cyra spent half a year dashing around the level, looking for potential targets.

In her spare time, she was sightseeing and creating techniques for her five children. It was an excellent way to kill her boredom.

There was one more fundamental change that had occurred while she was traveling. She turned off her stealth and walked openly. By doing so, she didn't scare away her potential targets.

Her next encounter with humans happened on level 98, where she stumbled upon a military base while she was searching for life.

While she spent time on the lower levels, she did encounter living creatures, but none of them were intelligent nor strong enough to pose any threat to her existence.

On the other hand, this military base looked fun. Full with military personnel, even ships flew up and down from its central building.

Using her robust force control, Cyra could see that two persons didn't fit in the picture. One was a woman inside the base. At the same time, the other was an older man sitting outside, she didn't know the woman, but the man seemed to be incredibly familiar to her as if she has seen him before.

System there any information about that base?

[There is. It's a ZOCOP, in other words, a Zone Control Combat Outpost, that is tasked with holding back beasts of the lower levels]

I didn't think they were that strong, that there is a need for such a force to hold them back.

[They are healthy for ordinary humans; also, their radiation alone is deadly enough to kill hundreds if not thousands of people in a matter of days]

Weren't these people healthy?

[No, they are not, Host is mixing up the original planet inhabitants with the prisoners]

Does it even matter?

[Yes]

Fine, where are these so called prisoners?

[Tha last reported incident is from between lvl 3000-4000.]

Are those the max level?

[No, but similarly to host, they must have been thrown to the lower levels, but they had much better luck, also similarly to Host they can leave whenever they want to]

Can I leave? Good to know...

Cyra saw through most things as she walked towards the base; she knew precisely 1245 humans in her surroundings. She knew about their weapons and equipment, so she walked towards them without any worries.

On the other hand, the base soldiers didn't share her views, as initially, they thought they were hallucinating a figure walking out in the open without any equipment.

That should have been the case, but sadly as Cyra passed through the red zone, the base alarms have gone off, and everyone and everything was pointing weapons at her.

The situation didn't last long as it was better shooting first than asking questions. Cyra was bombarded with explosive ammunition, and with heavy fire support, she was fired at until she was dead. In this case, it was until they have run out of ammunition.

"What's is the situation?"

"Sir, the target is unharmed and still approaching us!"

"Prepare Laser ammunition!"

"But sir, it's still underground testing, we can't risk it, or we will lose the war against the invaders!"

It was at this moment that Cyra appeared between them and asked - "What invaders?" While the 2 of them shocked, turning around, they saw the corpses of their brothers and sisters; as it turned out, the moment Cyra heard an exciting topic to her, she stopped fooling around.

One of them passed out from fear while the other began to talk, "It's... It's rumored that they have arrived between 5000-5999 floor, and they're the cause of our civil war."

"Then why don't you kill them?"

"We can't!"

"Why?"

"More than one quadrillion people are living from level 5000-5999, and even if we find them, they have much more advanced weapons, so we are incapable of killing them?

"Oh, then where are you from?"

"Level 7349, I'm part of the working class as a low ranked officer."

"I see, then I have one last question. I can see that there is research going on, but why is there a woman in the basement?"

"I don't know it's classified!"

"Are you sure?" Said Cyra as she held him by the head. He was so little next to Cyra; it was impossible for him even to run away.

"Yes, the base supervisor knew, but he is lying there dead."

"Oh well, it's my bad then, if that's all. Bye!"

After looting the last bits of credit, Cyra has proceeded to eat everyone while directly headed towards where the teen girl was kept.

It was a rather exciting cell as it stopped her from moving but kept her safe. The woman was a beauty herself with her ocean blue eyes and blonde hair. The moment she stepped inside, an alarm went off, A mechanism disconnected the tube, and a mechanical arm lunched it upwards towards unknown levels.

Cyra watched the girl fly upwards without moving an inch; she will eventually catch up. There was no point in chasing, so she turned around and began roaming this level.
