When Alex's consciousness cleared he found himself in the all to familiar sphere of an Inner-world. Like his own, he appeared in an Etheral form of his own body. Unlike his own, the creature's sphere was dull, making it harder for him to see than it would his own.
Looking around with keen eyes, Alex managed to find the Etheral figure of the Rebrun Serpent floating next to a white cloud. Alex moved closer, eager not to anger it.
After getting a little closer Alex could see the images of a past memory flashing in the cloud. It was of a large man with bulging muscles, a ferocious look on his face. Pinning down the snake in its prime, he was injecting mental energy into the Serpent.
"He enslaving it?" Thought Alex. Getting a closer look at the Etheral figure of the Serpent, it looked to be in pain struggling with every action it took.
"What a miserable existence," thought Alex. Looking closely at the Etheral Serpent he could see an unknown Rune inscribed on its side. Dull blue energy radiating from the Rune.
Edging closer to the beast hoping not to be eaten, but noticed the creature seemed to be docile. Staring into its large red eyes, Alex could see multiple conflicting emotions, pain, anger and another emotion Alex found complexing hope.
Reaching out his hand Alex caressed the head of the beast, trying to give comfort before moving his hand down to the pulsing blue Rune.
Thinking about how Ruins had worked in the past, Alex wondered if he dispelled the energy circulating this Rune he could set the beast free.
"Let's try," thought Alex. Placing his hand on the Rune Alex pushed as much mental energy as possible into it the Ruin, trying with all his strength to dispel the original owner's energy signature.
"What kind of freak was that man?" Alex's thoughts were well-founded, even though the man's original energy signature had grown weaker over the centuries, it was still able to overpower Alex.
With one final push throwing everything he had at it, Alex felt the energy starting to budge. Even though the energy was many folds more powerful than Alex, it didn't have a constant supply.
Slowly but surely, he could feel the energy slowly being pushed out. Even though Alex could have replaced the energy signature with his own, he felt that it was the wrong thing to do.
With one final push, Alex managed to push out the last of the slaver's energy, quickly pulling out his own he saw the Rune dissipate before his eyes.
Just like that, the creatures, Inner-world started to shake violently. Alex could finally see clearly, the smog from before starting to clear up.
"I really wish I could look around more but I'm out of energy," thought Alex.
In the real world, only seconds had passed since Alex landed on the beasts head. Dropping off suddenly, going completely limp, the team feared the worst, picking Alex up and backtracking.
Putting a bit of distance between them and the beast, the team checked Alex's condition. "Guys in ok," said Alex getting up.
A few meters away, the Rebrum Serpent was going through a change. Spinning around Its self, almost looking like a wheel of scales. Suddenly the scales started receding, becoming smaller and smaller, in till the previous humongous Serpent was now that size of a man.
"Its, a woman?" Said Jasper shocked. Looking over a woman in her early 30s was standing were the Serpent once stood. Having beautiful bright red hair going down to her hips and red piercing eyes, a reptilian slit down the middle.
"What the hell is going on? One minute we're fighting a lizard and now a woman?" Said Kristina?
"Yeah I kinda get the feeling we're in some kind of dodgy manga," said Desmon
Looking over. Looking up Alex had a grin on his face. "It worked," said Alex.
When he was Inside her inner world he glimpsed a memory of her in a humanoid form, basing his whole reasoning for setting her free on that one image.
If not he would have just left his mental signature in the Ruin instead of gaining a powerful partner.
"Thanks, for setting me free," said the women. Her voice sounding grunted and strained, showing that she hadn't spoken in a very long time.
Walking up to the team, everyone initially went on guard. "Relax, I just want to give that man a gift," said the women.
Reaching out and touching Alex on the hand. A burning sensation starting spreading making Alex wonder if he made the wrong decision.
After the burning sensation stopped, looking down Alex could see a red tattoo. It was a tattoo of a Rebrum Serpent looking extremely realistic on the top of his hand.
Looking down everyone was surprised by the sudden appearance of a tattoo. "What does it do?" Asked Alex.
"Who knows," said the woman walking away. "But you will find out eventually."
"At least tell me your name," shouted Alex.
"Rajax..." replied the women disappearing into thin air.
"Rajax? What a unique name," thought Alex. After the incident with the Rebrun Serpent, everyone was spent and needed a few hours to recover.
During that time the team mainly sat in silence, shocked by the events that just occurred. Even in ancient Ruins events like that were almost unheard of.
"Sentient Ancient creatures are not always so kind-hearted Alex. What just happened then, never do it again, ever," said Jasper.
Looking down a bit dejected, Alex thought he did the right thing, but according to Jasper it was stupid and could have easily killed them.
