Chapter 1 - 1. Fate intertwined.

"Marriage?!! What the hell are you talking about? I'm 17!"

I argued. Yet, my pleas fell upon dead ears. I knew he had been caught beneath the conquering foot of his boss. Who had a son in his early 20's. Gross. I could still hear his aggravated groans. Disappointments in my rejection

I was dumbfounded. My emotions swell inside only to escape in the form of tears. To my room, I ran. Falling against the pile of plush blankets. Sinking into a inanimate embrace. I was flustered and angry.

Within the following weeks, I felt nervous and sick. Dreading that moment when my fate would be sealed away in the hands of some strange man, one I've never met. It was a nightmare. Of course, my mother hadn't been there to comfort me. Having passed away when I was a young girl. Being raised by a father who's appearance was inconsistent. We never bonded or had the time and this massive condo apartment...My best friend was the elderly butler.

One who raised me as a child. We called him Eugene. He wasn't Korean like me, but..English. Though fluent in our language, I never noticed he was anything, but Korean.

He tried to console me. It was going to be alright. He would always say with that sweet, aging smile. His wisdom was beyond my own. Leaving me to still feel like such a child. I guess compared to him, I was. With slender digits brushed my Auburn locks from my face. My hazel gaze found him peering down at me. All 6 foot 4 of him. I felt so small.

And as the clock ticked away, I felt my heart sing further. Clutching the ivory gown of silk and lace. Oved my shoulders and face..a veil. My father wrapped his arm around mine with a delightful, selfish grin. I tore my gaze away, to the right to avoid looking at him. Down the aisle my heels lead me, my wave of locks bounce with each step forward. The closer and closer we got to the french doors leading into the church, I felt my anxiety climb.

Nearly sweating out of my wedding dress. Biting aggressively at my lower lip in an attempt to distract me from the emotional thoughts that dwelled within my mind. Subconsciously, I pondered of running away. Debating on changing my name. All this time in thought, I never noticed that I was soon standing at the alter. As my head lifted and reality set it, I first noticed that confident, over cocky grin. Then his chocolate gaze captured my hazel eyes. I froze.

If I wasn't uncomfortable before, I certainly was now. Something about this man was every bit unsettling and I grew even more wary than before. It was the way he looked at me in primal hunger that made a small shiver to wash over my small, fragile frame. At least compared to his strong, tall physique.

I could swear my tightening grip caused the thorns of my bouquet to slice through the fabric of my gloves and violently cut along curled digits.

"I do.." WAIT WHAT??!!!!

Did I just agree to this madness. I couldn't believe it and once I glanced down, I felt cold silver slide along my ring finger. The ring itself was stunning. The solid band was dressed down in the best quality of diamond. And as he leaned down to give his bride a final kiss. His lips grazed along the jawline to her ear.

"Your soul is mine...Miss Satan.."

I felt my body freeze, eyes now widening at his next set of words and for a moment...I swore I could see horns and a spade tipped tail swaying behind him. I felt hot and sick. Did I really get sold to the devil?! When I glanced back to see my father, his head hung in shame and he quickly left the church. My head was rushing with plenty of thoughts.

No! The devil couldn't really exist, let alone become her husband. Could he? As I scurried from the room, I kneeled at the toilet and hurled. All my breakfast coming up at once and splashing in the ceramic bowl. It was then that I felt faint and collapsed on the bathroom in exhaustion and disbelief.

As I woke, I found myself in a bed. My husband seemed to be busy standing shirtless in from of the large bay window of our suite. It was our honeymoon after all. Finger brushed along lavender silk covers and sheets. The texture was taunting to touch more of my skin. I bet it would feel amazing. None of that was important. I wanted to know everything. As I peered up yet again, his back littered in cult demonic symbols and tattoos. Tribal and ancient.

"Tell me, why did my father give me to you? What did you do to him?!"

He drew in a deep breath and as he turned I caught a heavy glimpse of his frontal figure. It caused a dash of pink along my vanilla complexion. From cheek to cheek. I redirected my sights on his intrigued expression. How he studied made me feel more naked than I already was. His tongue clucking as lids fell heavily into slender slits. He tilted his head.

"It's not what I've done to him, but what he's done to himself. I am sure you know, I am satan himself in human flesh. Your father made a fatal bet and instead of paying with his soul, he gave his daughter as a token of payment...But, you really shouldn't ask so many questions. I don't think you'd like the answers."

He was coming closer, crawling upon the king sized mattress until his hand cupped my chin. Tilting my head dominantly until my eyes were glued to his. So hypnotic and his next set of words rolled off his tongue in toxic intimacy.

"Now be a good girl and do as you're told, Liao.."

"Yes, Sir..."

What the hell am I doing?
