Chapter 1 - The love of her life

Sadie Parker has been in love with one man for most of her life, Zach Simpson. They grew up together and have been the best of friends since she can remember, and that was the biggest problem. She has been put in the dreaded friend zone. She couldn't find a way out of it either. No matter what she tried she just couldn't get Zach to look at her any other way then that of a friend.

Sadie can still remember the day that Zach's family moved in next door. It was the summer that Sadie just turned 13. Most of her friends were away with their families for a fun summer vacation, so she was extremely bored that day. She decided that she was going to go for a run to the park. As she walked out the door of her house she noticed that there was a big moving truck parked in the driveway of her neighbors house. She then remembered her mom telling her that their new neighbors would be moving in this weekend.

She was suddenly very excited and went straight over to her new neighbors to introduce herself and see if she could be of any help to them. As she walked over that was when she saw him for the first time. Her jaw about hit the ground. This was the cutest boy she had ever seen. He was tall and not too lanky. He had short light brown hair and baby blue eyes. When he smiled it could light up the room. She could get lost for days just staring at his eyes and smile.

Zach saw her standing on the sidewalk with her mouth hanging open and he just laughed. He had never seen anyone act the way Sadie was at that moment. He decided that he would go over and introduce himself to her. "Hi my name is Zach Simpson. What is your name?" She instantly became so tough tied, "SSSaaddie PPPaarrkker and you?" Zach laughed out loud and said "I just told you silly! It's Zach Simpson." Sadie could have slapped her face. She looked like a blubbering idiot! She need to get a grip and calm herself down before she embarrassed herself more. She was quick to say "Oh yeah I knew that!" as she laughed nervously. "I just wanted to come over to introduce myself and see if I could help you with anything. I'm your next-door neighbor!" "Well hello my new neighbor. I'm sure we could use all the help that we can get. By the way how old are you?" asked Zach curiously. He thought she was funny and kind of cute. He noticed she had long blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was also tall but not too tall, and had a cute smile.

Sadie answered " I just turned 13 right before school closed for the summer. How old are you?" "Oh me? I am also 13." When she heard that she was secretly so happy. She knew then she had to make this boy her friend and hopefully one day they would be more then friends.

As Sadie now looked back at that day she just laughed at herself for being so nervous that day. Her and Zach became quick friends. She learned that he was one of the most caring person you could ever meet. He was always helping others in any way that he could. He would protect her from anything; weather it was from a bully or some kind of harmful thing coming her way. He had great set of values and stuck up for what he believed in. All of these things just made Sadie fall more in love with him each and every day. They had a lot of adventures together. Many of them were good memories and some not so good, but one thing for sure was Zach was always there for her and she was always there for him too.

Over the years they both grew up and their bodies changed from a gangly and awkward teenagers to grown adults. The two both went to the same college together. While in college Sadie saw Zach go through many girlfriends that never seemed to work out. She would secretly hoped that they would fail and that he would start to see her as a potential girlfriend; but it never work out that way. It seemed that he always had another girl waiting in the wings. Sadie had a few boyfriend's but they could never compare to her Zach. So she just decided that she would patiently wait for her turn. It just never seemed to come.

She didn't know how to tell Zach her feelings for him because he seriously always had a girlfriend. Zach had even said to one of his many girlfriends that Sadie was his honoree sister. When she heard him introduced her that way she was crushed! But she just smiled at the new girlfriend and shook her hand. I mean come on how much more could a girl take! She so wanted to scream as she pulled her hair out and say 'Are you blind? I'm not your sister! Can't you see how much I'm in love with you! I don't even remotely look at you as a brother! Why won't you give us a try? Why do you always choose someone else?' She just knew that she needed to hold out because she knew they would have a love of a lifetime. So she sat around just waiting for that day to come.

As Sadie was sitting around reminiscing about Zach was when she should be getting ready for her 21st birthday party. Zach had called her a few days earlier and told her not to plan anything and that he was going to throw her the biggest birthday bash for her. She was so excited and could hardly wait to see what all Zach had planned for her. She looked at the time and gasped! Zach would be there to pick her up for the party in an hour and she still needed to get ready. She hurried and took a quick shower and got dressed. She chose the dress that she knew Zach liked. It was a light blue off the shoulder summer dress. Zach always told her that this dress brought out her beautiful hazel eyes. She blew dried her hair and quickly curled and styled it. Most of the time she wore her hair up but tonight it looked better down, plus Zach always liked her hair down. Whenever she wore her hair down he would lightly play with her long blonde strands of hair when he sat next to her. If she wore her hair up Zach would always take down her hair. He would always tell her he loved her luscious blonde locks and to not hide them away in a ponytail.

Sadie was a lucky girl who didn't have to put on too much makeup. Her face always looked fresh and looked as if she had a professional makeup artist did her makeup each day. She had the longest eyelashes that framed her small round shaped hazel eyes. She would always have someone that would come up to her and ask where she got her eyelashes done at? When she told them they were her natural eyelashes they would always tell her how lucky she was to have such beautiful eyelashes. All Sadie really needed for makeup was some lip stick. As she finished putting on her lip stick her mom called up to her to tell her that Zach was there to pick her up. Sadie yelled down the stairs and told her to tell Zach she would be right there she just needed to put on her shoes and she would go straight down. She put on her 3 inch light blue heels and walked out the door. She was excited to see Zach. She couldn't wait to see his reaction to her as she came down the stairs. That was one thing Zach was good at was his complements to a beautiful lady.
