Jaq had already begun to move towards the sounds of enemies that were coming from over the rocks that surrounded us. The chill in the air and the foggy sky overhead that was tinted with a hint of amber made my hairs stand on end. Before my new companion decided to go Rambo on the unknown armies of the Demon King, I grabbed at his jacket as hard as I could and pulled him back.
"Huh? What's your problem now? In case you haven't noticed, our quarrel is done. If you want to fight later you can do it after we get paid. Until then I don't want you messing with me." He tried to wrestle my arm away, but I stayed firm in my resolve and held tight to his clothing.
"Listen, we have no idea what's there and if you haven't noticed we're alone. There could be 100 who-knows-what out there and you're just gonna jump in? Are you insane?" I could barely contain my annoyance at this point. Surely this guy only became high level off of dumb luck.
