The wind blew against our faces, almost in an attempt to push us off of the large stone wall. My feet clattered against the ground, as if I was wearing heavy boots.
The view is terrific. I've already been able to see the entire city, or at least what is visible from this distance, and I can say with certainty that although his place is pretty, it is also extremely gilded.
This city is a magnificent example of pretty on the outside yet rotten on the inside. I cannot imagine a more perfect example.
Poverty litters the workers, slavery is commonplace, they perform executions of monsters as a party trick, duels and gladiator matches are natural, and the nobility has so much more than anyone could need yet they also hoard it all for themselves.
It's truly disgusting, and yet…
The view, at least from here, is nice. I can even see the glinting of light off of water in a distant aqueduct which is allowing water to flow to and from locations across the city.
