I held onto my father as tightly as I could. Though my strength was lessened in this world, I still have the power to hold on as much as I can.
Father responded by gently placing his hands on my shoulders.
"Why are you…" He began to whisper.
"Dad." I said. "I… I'm going to call you that. I understand what you did. I won't act as if you were in the right for doing it, nor will I act as if I believed that you did the right thing from your own point of view, but I still understand why you did what you did."
Dad said nothing, but he slowly wrapped his own arms around me and reciprocated the embrace.
"Tael…" He whispered. I didn't speak. I instead just waited in this moment.
After some time had passed, we released each other.
"Dad, I have a few questions for you, if that's alright to ask."
"Go ahead, Tael. It's not as if I have any other secrets to hold onto."
I sat down, so dad sat next to me.
