I channeled all of the power I could muster, alongside all of the combined magical knowledge of every elf inside of my mind, to find a way to access my father's core. After what appeared to be a second, I felt my mind funnel itself through my body and go into my father's chest.
Everything was dark.
This is a cold, quiet place. It's calm, but at the same time, I can feel a strange sense of melancholy.
Is this what a core is? I've never actually seen one, nor do I actually know what it looks like. Cores are typically referred to as a metaphysical item, not a real thing that you can touch.

"Hello?" I called out. My voice echoed, but nothing replied to me.
