The flames that erupted split the sky apart, destroying the clouds that hung overhead until the only thing above us was the open air. The sun that had descended under the horizon was no longer visible. Darkness has taken place.
I was not focused on the sudden change in scenery as I instead ran with all of my might towards the epicenter of the explosion. The ash and flames that remained in the area slowly died out while I moved as quickly as I could, clutching onto my tree branch while I did so.
Tael-san and Kany followed closely behind me, as did General Meduso. The four of us moved as quickly as we could before I spotted something within the crater that had been carved out of the flames.
