I swung my katana time and time again in a desperate attempt to cleave away at the demon before me. With every futile blow, the monster before me let out more laughter.
"Keep trying! I almost felt that one!" Its voice reverberated throughout the cavern. The water shook in response to the vibrations its deep tone created.
I grit my teeth in frustration and hopped away. In a desperate attempt to do SOMETHING, I pointed my left palm towards the blob of flesh and channeled my mana.
"Flames of Ares!" I cast. The blue and orange flames that emerged from my palm exploded out towards my foe.
"AAAAAHHHH!" The demon screamed. I couldn't stop myself from smiling as I listened to its scream of pain.
"Yeah… Not so tough now, are you?" I goaded. When the monster stopped making noise, I turned my magic off and waited for the smoke to dissipate.
My smile disappeared and was replaced by a look of terror when I saw that the creature was completely unscathed.
