With a flash of light, I felt the ground underneath me shift. My eyes slowly adjusted to the torchlight that lit the surrounding area as I felt the chill in the air.
Instinctively, I held my arms to try to conserve heat. My teeth began to chatter in response to the cold.
"Welcome! Take a jacket!" A dwarf called out to us as he threw a grey jacket at me. "It's colder than a pint out here so ya need ta get warm!"
I didn't hesitate to take his offering as I threw the jacket onto myself. The warm pelt immediately insulated me from the cold as I felt my body heat remove the chill from my skin.
The dwarf that had been watching us ushered us away from the circle.
"Now ya need ta do what ya were told! Go kill the beasts!" He grinned as the adventurers I had travelled with began to walk off.
"U-Um…" I let out. The dwarf turned to face me as his smile faded.
"What?" He asked. His jovial tone had entirely left his voice.
