I let out a long exhausted breath as I stepped into the open area of the Marigonald district.
My name is Marix. I'm the leading investigator for the city watch. My job has always revolved around questioning criminals and investigating scenes of crimes.
Today is… a bit different.
Why is it different, you may ask?
Well, it's different because unlike most cases of theft or assault, this is a missing person's… or should I say missing people case.
The people that are missing are all city watch members like myself. Of course, all of them are lower tier members. They're all standard ground troops that do grunt work. Keeping the peace, patrolling, answering questions. You know, loser stuff.
I was called out here today after every guard in the vicinity went missing. We haven't been able to contact them at all, even with Mind Connection. That's why they sent me.
