Chereads / Marik's Avatar / Chapter 2 - The Avatar's Space

Chapter 2 - The Avatar's Space

Taking a few steps around his new humble abode, stretching, and getting used to his body, Marik moved his feet towards the backyard door, pushing the door open.

Marik peered at the few square meters of red-brownish dirt he calls a backyard, exiting the room to stand straight in the middle of the small yard, Marik took a deep breath, refreshed, looking up to see his Field of view hindered by a 5 meters wall.

"It seems like the family outer wall is the back wall of my back yard! seriously who came up with this design? they are inviting assassins openly... hope they choose the other backyards as their entry point...sigh I shouldn't be wishing for that!".

After getting comfortable with his new body, and environment, Marik was calm enough to think of unnecessary thoughts.

But there is an issue his not sure about, for now, admiring the moon in the folds of the dark sky, his thoughts strayed.

"If my soul is now residing and controlling this body, what happened to the real Marik's soul?" asked Marik with a frown upon his face.

Jin of the earth was not a heartless, selfish man to just ignore this point, but not a one who would dwell on this issue.

So giving this enigma some time for reflection should be enough, or at least that's what he believes in.

...

On the other side of the family's mansion, after pushing the wheelchaired young lady back to her villa, she immediately started preparing the young girl for bed, or at least she gave her best doing that, seeing how uncooperative the girl was.

after a tough battle, the maid succeded in changing the girl's clothes to sleepwear; tucking the peeved girl in her bed, she released a sigh of relief in her heart.

excusing herself, the maid prepared to leave the room but stopped by the girl when she reached for the door's knob.

"Wait!" called the young girl.

"Yes my lady, anything you want" replied the maid.

"What happened to that small-manger?; and the errand I gave him?" asked the girl with a cold face.

"My lady, you mean small-manger Armi?" inquired the maid, feeling sad for poor Armi, 'she didn't even remember his name'.

the young girl just replied with a nod, slightly hesitant.

"I'm sorry my lady, he's still not back, but I'm sure he's working hard on the mission you gave him" quickly answered the maid.

"Humph, I don't need hard work, I need results, make sure to inform him of this." said the young girl, motioning with her hand urging the maid to leave.

"As you wish my lady" the maid turned towards the door and left the room after accepting the girl's order; sigh... poor Armi, I'm afraid he will end up like the ones before him.

...

Back to Marik's small backyard.

While Marik was deep in his thought; all of a sudden his vision shook and blurred for a moment, the next thing, he found himself looking at himself, with surprise and shock clouding his face, his eyes darting everywhere, trying to gain the vaguest measure of understanding of the current circumstances, yet no fear or panic overcome him this time.

He instinctively knew that he's not in any danger, few seconds from his arrival to this wried place, summarised his findings in two things.

" okay. a weird, empty-space, and an avatar-like silhouette that considerably resembled me!!" pointed Marik.

While Marik was trying to take in his surrounding, he finds it hard to describe.

Pushing the issue of the avatar in front of him to the back of his mind, focusing on the space containing him and the avatar.

Huge or small, dark or bright, is it of any color, no matter how he observed, nothing came to him, it was just there.

He can see every inch of this space but could not tell its limits nor the color of the walls encompassing this space if they do exist.

Taking his mind off this helpless task, Marik focused on the avatar, trying to glean any information of it, ...and that what he did, just kept starring at it, and matching it with the knowledge stored in his brain.

"huh!!?.." all of sudden Marik's face delivered expressions of amazement, mixed with excitement...After 2 to 3 hours, facing and starring at the avatar intensely, Marik was suddenly ejected from that space, taking few breaths, shaking his head lightly, Marik found himself still standing in the backyard of his servant-house, with a quick look around him, Marik verified one of the information he got from the avatar, while he spent a couple of hours in the Avatar's space, outside in the real world only a second or two passed.

"So that what happened to mine, and this world's Marik soul!... what an unbelievable feat!" exclaimed Marik.

Even though Marik was ejected from the Avatar's space, he is not sad or worried, because now, he has a basic idea of what happened and how the Avatar's space works.

Not just he's not worried, but more like relieved, you can see that from the smile etched on his handsome face, it felt like a heavy burden was lifted off his shoulders.

Even though Marik readily accepted his fate, and new life on this foreign planet, deep down in his heart, he bottled all the concerns he has about his future, especially with the 'slightly' brutal trends predominating this world.

Although being a servant of the Aidass family may give him some safety, but he's not that naive to blindly believe in the fragile safety provided by the noble family.

Of course, the number one method to safeguard his life and little honor he has would be a personal strength, his alone.

By now he already has a way to gain that strength, naturally relying on the Aidass family, but in the end, he's just a tiny servant and from what he heard, they were only allowed to the first floor of the library once a month, and since it the first floor of the library, that means no Aura training manual for you.

That leaves Marik one way to gain the necessary strength for a decent life, body refining path, and to be honest, the Aidass family collection of body refining manuals and even battle techniques considered to be rich compared to the others, be it the two other big noble families, the Macaroon family, and the Luvia family, or the city lord, the archduke.

But so what, how a small servant going to train his body with no resources or a master to overlook his training to avoid any malpractice and there is his meager income that is not helping in any way.

So this puts him in a helpless situation, I won't say overcast with dark clouds but not bright either.

So following the right attitude was his only escape from any danger comes his way, flattering, bowing his head, anything of this sort.

but now, everything changed with the Avatar's space, his future is looking bright enough for Marik to smile leisurely, brimming with confidence at the moment.

And how come he is not relieved after getting glims of what the Avatar can do.First, how this Avatar came to existence?.

After the vague exchange of information with the Avatar, Marik came to realize, neither he, Jin of the earth, nor Marik of this world died.

Yeah...none of them died or one soul took over the other's body, no, at least he is sure that what happened to Marik, the anomaly came from his soul, Jin's soul.
