Chapter 1 - Beyond the Universe

I sat by the bench as I patiently wait for him to arrive. He is awfully late and I don't even have the guts to tell him to hurry up since I troubled him enough by making him fly to Philippines all the way from Spain. "Celeste?" A voice said as it approached me. I quickly stood up from where I was standing to then face him properly. He was exactly as I imagined him to be. "Hello, nice to meet you." I smiled as I offered him my hand. "You must be, Fourth?" I asked.

He stiffens as he shook my hand and looked at me intently, as if he's trying to see my real intensions for calling him. "You know my great-grand father, Lucian. How?" He asked, as his eyebrows met each other in the middle. He is suspicious about me, I can feel it. "Maj. Gabriel Fourth Alizde, are you perhaps questioning my character? Regretting flying to Philippines, now?" I grinned.

"Celeste Agnes Aldua. A descendant of your great-grandfather's greatest love, Celestina Vizconde. And I am here to rely a message." I smiled as I handed him my great-grandmother's box. It was filled with letters for Gen. Lucian Alizde. A former Spanish General who met my ancestor on a remote beach in Batangas. He looked at me and turned to the box, slowly opening it.

"I do not care how long it has been but I think those letters should be given to the rightful owner. Burn it for Gen. Alizde or put it in his grave or whatever you pleases. As long as I can face my Lola Celestina with pride that I handed you that letter." I said. He was too busy examining the papers, I can't tell if he's paying attention or not. "Some are missing." He said. I frowned and looked at him.

"What?" I asked, still frowning. He shook his head and held my arm. "Say, Celeste. Are you in for an adventure?" He asked. "Ay buang, peste. Sorry, Maj. Alizde, I'll have to decline." I answered and pulled my arm away from him. I grabbed my bag, ready to leave. "Aren't you curious, Celeste? How Celestina went through many years, even with her heart problem. Just to wait for my grandfather? Isn't that why you reached me out? Because you, yourself wants to know?" I gasped, surprised.

He was right. I was beyond curious how Lola Celestina handled such strong feelings through years despite of her heart problems. I wanted to know what the letters hold. I want to know their story. I want something to push me to keep living. That is why I called Fourth. To satisfy my curiousities. But would my heart let me? I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I hate how I easily agree with this. But what are the odds of going out on an adventure to find about the romance of your great ancestor.

"Meet me here, tomorrow. 7 in the morning." I said and walked out. This is it, let me read your story, Lola Celestina.
