While the Sword Alliance was giving these guys an opportunity to surrender and return to their homes, they stupidly failed to realise that noone would actually 'buy' them back.
Just what power, and what Alliance would dare to claim them as their own, and actually agree to having attacked their neighbours, and lost badly at that.
Even if they didn't care about their ego, they wouldn't dare to actually become the common evil of the whole Province.
Of course, this didn't mean that they weren't going to be branded as the common evil, but as long as they didn't accept to it, nobody would dare to claim them responsible.
After all, they could brand all these guys as rebels or traitors that had left their Sects and Alliance. Or like 'bought' people that would want to destroy their image.
