Princess Alice ordered that that they will be divided into two, to make the searching easier and lenient. One guard comes together with her while Cartlon and the other guard went onto the cabin where Morgan and Phoax are staying.
Hence, upon reaching the inside of the hut Cartlon realized that Morgan was missing too. The rope and the chain were in there, hanging and broken.
He quickly concludes that he had escaped and leave Phoax, alone. "Wake up! Wake up!" He kicked slowly the young man's foot. But, he remained sleeping.
"Captain, I looked around and there was a hole at the back of the hut! Perhaps, he's been planning and keeping a sharp weapon with himself for him to be free and have wrath on us!"
