Chapter 72 - Chapter 70: I Am Not The King

~ Third Person's Point of View ~

Morgan used his feet to attack Cartlon. Their loud voices were heard all over the place but Princess Alice quickly gets her weapon from the ground.

Morgan shouted, "Phoax! Hatius!" His voice was too loud not to be heard. Upon hearing it, Morgan's nephews abruptly get their weapons.

As they reached, Phoax pointed the sword into the Princess. He said, "Don't you try to hurt him, her majesty! He's the only person that stays in our lives!"

In spite of pity and mercy, Princess Alice gets rid of it and fought against him.

Quickly and immediately, Alice swipes her sword while Morgan and Cartlon are battling. She steps forward and Phoax tried to avoid and block her attacks.

All of a sudden,  Hatius showed up from nowhere and stumbled upon witnessing her majesty and Phoax fighting.

He exclaimed, "What's going in here? Why does all of you are quarrelling?" His eyes say what inside of his heart.

His heartbeats were too loud and audible that made all of them stopped and turned their gazes at him.

Cartlon exclaimed, "Save her majesty, Hatius and I shall grant your wish!"

Morgan, Phoax seems shocked and alarmed.

He clenched his fists and grimaced, "You shall be punished by our ancestors when you follow the command of the Captain of royal guards! Do not be too deceiving– they will going to use you. Afterwards, they'll leave you hopeless and miserable!"

"You have nothing to do with my decisions, Uncle! I and Phoax have been dwelled with the past for so long because of you! And, because of you– I've learned to hate the royal families especially the King of Alicesha!"

Hatius paused. Looking and observing the epic responses of his Uncle and twin brother.

Until his arm began to percolate.

"You are a traitor! And, a traitor like you shall be beheaded according to our law!" Phoax, who was once an innocent young boy turned into a wild, feral man.

Hatred. Vengeance. Power. Leads him to become a real fiend and a threat to Hatius.

Morgan abruptly grinned from ear to ear upon seeing the bloodstream at Hatius' arm that made Cartlon gulped. However, Princess Alice persisted to be calm and cool.

She breathes out a heavy sigh and lowered her head down. She said, "Intending to poison the Princess and the Captain of the Royal Guards is considered as treason. The Kingdom of Alicesha retains the major punishment for such a betrayal action! And now, you are still acting as you can win against me? How naive you are, Morgan!"

Alice swivelled then glances at Phoax who's trembling due to fear but, his eyes were full of willingness– still.

As soon as he blinks, Princess Alice was standing firmly behind of him that made Phoax to panic.

Cartlon searches for any weapon and he saw the chain on the floor. He scooped it back and put angrily at Morgan's neck that made him strangled. "Look at your ba–" "Don't try to help him, Morgan! You're condemned together with your nephew!"

Without further execution, Hatius tied up Phoax who's lying on the surface, while enduring the pain on his lower abdomen. Princess Alice's punch was mindblowing that brought him to be unconscious.

Alice commanded, "Watch how your own nephew tied up his own brother! Watch him with your naked eyes and empty soul, Morgan!"

"Let me go, Captain! You are unknowingly distressing the man who saved your father, three years ago."

His swords were delivered effectively since Cartlon narrowed his eyes.

Cartlon answered back with doubt in his voice. He asked,  "You saved my father?!"

"I guess you know nothing."

Alice saw that Cartlon began losing the grip on Morgan's neck and it would be a threat for all of them.

Before her predictions became real, Alice pulled back her sword and pointed it into Morgan's throat.

She was fearless and full of courage. Alice is unstoppable from making her enemies suffer and endure by her own sweat and blood. She said, "Try to escape, and your neck will be strangled!" Alice thrust scarcely the blade that compelled Morgan to breathe as heavy as he can.

He must be into something that would turn the situation upside down. He must probably be slated on how can he beat Princess Alice.

Morgan exclaimed, "You will never find him, your majesty! You will gather nothing but only a peril. Be cautious, Princess Alice. You don't know that traitors are nimble and smart– am I right, Cartlon?"

The Princess itself knows the persons who can she trust with. The Captain of the Royal Guards is one of them and Alice never imagined that Cartlon would betray her. Not because she's the next Queen, rather, as her steward.

Alice smiled from ear to ear as she leaned closer to Morgan's ear. She murmured, "Tell me, where's Garron and the eldest survivor named Belor? Tell me what in your mind, and in exchange– your life will be spared."

"How did you know about them?!" Morgan asked, shocked and startled.

Instead of answering his query, Cartlon replied as soon as he came back again to his senses. He said, "It doesn't matter anymore but, you're sanctioned to confess in front of her majesty."

"An ambitious man once said to his son, I want you to be the Captain of the Royal Guards. You must aim higher and you shall marry the first daughter of the King. As our forefather guiding us, my words shall be granted even after my last breath."

Those words are familiar with Cartlon. He could barely hear his father babbling his ambitions and desires when they're alone.

Morgan abruptly grinned even though his neck is bleeding. He added, "Do you still remember, Captain?"

With enough confidence and conviction, Alice replied, Morgan! Morgan! Morgan! I know that you are desperate of letting my guard down and so you are attacking Cartlon. However, I won't let you obtain the power and wrath that you're hungering for how many years."

"I'd never wish to be the most powerful man of this nation, your majesty. I am here to know the truth! To give fair justice to my late father and brother who was killed by your father!"

Finally, Morgan confessed out his real motives.

Alice smiled genuinely as if she never felt nervousness upon knowing the truth. The ugly truth that her father slew someone.

"I am not the King and he will never be seen by the people again– forever." After saying those words, Princess Alice withdraw her weapon and breath heavily as she remembered King Sulliman.
