~ Third Person's Point of View ~
The following day, Cartlon was awakened by a loud laugh coming from nowhere. He slowly opened his eyes and realized that he was lying on the flat lumber with a ceiling made of bamboo and other kinds of woods.
It was all covered by a piece of white fabric.
Cartlon struggled to seat as his both hands were being tied tightly. He exclaimed, "Where Am I? Why do they tied and let me stay in here?!"
He screamed out of anger and resentment. Then, when he heard nothing, Cartlon looked around and saw a small wooden tumblr on the table.
He was too thirsty and was eager to taste the soothing effect of it into his body. As he strives to stand, Cartlon fumbled abruptly.
Without knowing that his left foot was being trussed by a chain that what made him endeavour to move.
"Release me! I am the Princess's guard and I shall be standing beside her!" His voice cracked and he was exhausted by his situation.
However, no one answered him.
Not until he heard loud footsteps coming towards him. Someone folded up the fabric and Princess Alice showed up.
Instead of asking for help, Cartlon looked at her disgusted and revolted.
He said, "Don't act like you have no idea of what's going on, Alice? You are the one who put something on my tea and you let Hatius give it to me! Tell me the truth, your majesty!"
He doesn't understand because Princess Alice was being trapped by Phoax and Morgan. She was being extorted and the conditions are to obey all his commands that forced Alice to make a tea that will make a person fall into a deep sleep.
Alice gasped and replied, "I have to Cartlon! I know that it is hard to believe and trust me again but I am begging you to act like you don't. We have to do this in order for us to go back to Billy and Sahara! We have to work together, Cartlon!"
Her majesty was determined to risk everything just to discover the truth. If she has to be a slave, she will do it for her people and not for herself.
Swordsman gasped and began to calm down. He just come back to reality and realized that Alice was not lying.
He replied, "I perhaps lied to you but I have never aspired to betray you, your majesty. And as the princess's guard, it is my duty to stay at your side no matter what. I will be your protector, Alice!"
He looked at the princess with no doubt and hesitation. If that is the only way, then he will support the princess even if it leads him to choose between life and death.
"I shall reward you for your honesty and loyalty, Cartlon! I need you for my plans to be successfully done, and this time we will win against traitors!" Alice exclaimed.
Secretly and certainly, Alice unclasped the chain on his left foot and gave him a dagger for him to free himself from being tied up.
However, he needs to make sure that no one will know everything. He said, "They are arriving, your majesty!" He quickly hides the dagger into his back. Alice said, "Shout at me as you loathe me as a vulnerable princess!"
Cartlon slightly shook his had and obeyed Alice's command. He exclaimed, "I regret all the sacrifices that I gave to you! I thought you were different from other royal families but you have failed me! You have languished us, your people, your believers and your parents."
Suddenly, Morgan clapped his hands upon hearing those words from Alice's guard. He said, "How ironic, isn't it? You are her majesty's guard yet you did not discern that everything was just an untruth! That Princess Alice only used you to be a bait and since she already found me. Found the person who can help her to locate the 'Book of Prophecy'."
"Rot in hell, Morgan! You are turning into a greedy monster and do not be deceived by the Princess of Alicesha. She's powerful and intelligent if you do not know!"
"Halt!" Alice replied.
"If killing me means happiness and success, then do it no Morgan! Do not hide at the back of her majesty!"
Morgan walked closer to him and twitched Cartlon's jaw. He said, "Did you hear her majesty? Didn't you?" His eyes were burning in flame yet still managed to give Cartlon an abrupt and sudden laugh.
Morgan added, "How dare you talk to her majesty with no respect and admiration?!"
The princess interrupted and said, "Let him speak that way, Morgan. Give Cartlon his freedom before you kill him."
Morgan turned his gaze at her and said, "It would be an honour if you will do it, your majesty." He then looked at the epic reaction of Cartlon.
Alice grabbed Morgan and replied, "It's not what we have planned, Morgan! You promised me that you will let him scared of you and killing anyone in here is out of the blue!"
"Princess! Princess! Princess! What makes you think that I am not going to betray you after telling the truth?" Morgan touched Alice's face while looking at Cartlon satirically.
Princess Alice tried to hold her breath as she meaningfully looking at her guard who's currently cutting the rope by a dagger.
He said, "You are a traitor, Morgan! Even the princess of this nation will be in vain because of your horrible motives and intentions. And the reason why you came here all along is to seek revenge for our father's death!"
"What are you trying to say, Cartlon? An act of revenge?" Alice seems confused and stunned by her guard's confession.
Cartlon was about to confess but Morgan punches his face the made him stop and bleed.
"Don't challenge me, swordsman, as if you are in the right place to be that courageous and brave! Remember that you are unarmed!"
"I wish undone by being deceived by a quest man! An ordinary one!" Alice said in a loud voice.
She abruptly heaves her sword and pointed it to Morgan's blossom. She said, "No one can defeat me, especially by someone like you!"
Cartlon waited for her signal as he successfully cut the rope. In a prowl way, he slowly walked towards Morgan.
"Put your sword down, Princess!" Morgan said.
By then, Alice nodded her head and screamed, "Noooow!" And the next thing that happened, Morgan was lying and facing the ground while Cartlon is holding his hands from behind.
