Chapter 25 - Chapter 23: Turning Into A Monster (3.1)

~ Sahara's Point of View ~

*FLASHBACK*

It was a fine and sunny day when the father told me to feed our beloved swine.

I immediately did what father instructed. "You are too big, Vlas. Perhaps, mother will stew you or sell you into the palace!"

I put Vlas' food into the small basil and give it to him. "Ohh! My poor big swine, eat, eat, eat because if you won't, then I'll slash you right now!"

Vlas began to eat, without hesitation. There's no way to resist the food I prepared for him.

"Sahara!" Father called me.

I turned my back and face him with a dirty and muddy hand.

I replied, "Father! I thought you are going to the palace to see the King."

Father was carrying his favorite cat named 'Brown' as he walked nearer to me.

He usually sighed and rubbed Brown's head every time he carries it. "Come here for a while, Sahara! I will tell you something."

I run towards Father and he let me sit beside him. We were sitting on a bench that he made under a big Mango Tree.

From here, I could barely watch Vlas eating everything in the basil. He's really adorable and exquisite swine.

"Lend your ears, Sahara. This time, I'll tell you about a little boy who saved me and I saved five years ago at the forest."

I forgot about Vlas when he began to narrate about the little boy.

"Five years ago, I was walking around into the wide and wild forest to hunt a lost goat."

I clasped my hands and replied, "What happened next, father?"

He looked and tapped the cat's head again. His hazel eyes reflect when the sunray touches his pale face.

"Then, as I'm hoping to get at least one for supper, I saw a werewolf roaming around and searching for food."

In my horror, I covered my mouth upon hearing about the werewolf. Father has been telling me that werewolf can kill a person.

That werewolf is one of the scariest wild animals of the forest. "Oh! What did you do next, Father? Did you hide from it or did you shoot the werewolf?!"

Father said, "It's too late to hide Sahara. The werewolf showed up in front of me, out of nowhere. If I run, then it would have been killed and eaten me. So, I've decided to think a better and effective plan on how to get rid of the hungry and drooling werewolf."

He then paused for while and let Brown have fun with her new friends, the frog, and then the white swan.

"I've planned to shoot it but there's only one, the last pellet left. Until it roared and prowled loudly. Seems like it was calling his relatives and or its kin."

I gulped and stayed focused on Father's thrilling story. "Then?"

"There's a little boy who showed up and he was chased by two more werewolves. He was then stumbled and fall into the grassy ground while crawling away from it."

Watching Father like this makes me more excited to know what happened between him and the poor little boy. I said, shocked and frightened about it, "Wooh!"

"By then, the boy was bitten by the werewolf. I couldn't help and save him because the one in front of me is showing his long, sharp teeth and was ready to attack.

"Suddenly, the boy gets something into his side and jag the werewolf dauntedly. He then moved so quickly and I saw he was using a dagger skillfully. Unfortunately, upon thrusting it to the last enemy, the boy accidentally slashes his palm."

"Ohh! And then what happened to the remaining one and to his palm, Father?"

He slightly shook his head and said, "I shoot the last werewolf although I have a doubt that I can't kill it right away. But, you know what happened to the boy's palm?"

Father really made me interested and curious about the little boy.

"It was bleeding but his blood is not red. It was a bluish Sahara! But when I walked closer to him, the color changed and became reddish. I don't know! But I felt something odd with him."

"Give me your hand, young boy," Father told him.

"At that moment, when he was about to stand up. The boy accidentally touches his wounded lower leg with his bleeding and wounded palm. Then, I looked upon him and I saw how he struggled to bear and to endure the pain."

"I let him grasp my arm as he slowly tried to stand. But, when he withdraws his hand, the wound in his leg began to heal."

I can't believe what Father told me. Is it really possible? How come? "His wound began to heal? Father, how does it happen?"

"I don't know either, Sahara. Then he opens up his palm and the cut on it was gone."

I can't enunciate even a single word due to my surprise. "Wh....at?!"

"Believe me or not, my beloved Sahara. That boy was the mage written in the prophecy and he shall the only man who can save the Alicesha Kingdom and reverse the upcoming extravaganza."

It was the first and last time hearing about the prophecy. "Prophecy?"

He nodded and said in a serious tone. "Find him when the right time comes and save the Queen no matter what happens."

By then, Father smiled at me and walked closer to Vlas. He then put two goblets of water into the basil and let Vlas drink it.

*PRESENT*

"That's the only thing I remembered, your majesty."

Billy, Cartlon sighed deeply after hearing my father's story except for Princess Alice.

She looks shocked and surprised to hear about it. "How come that I've never heard about the prophecy?"

Cartlon asked, "Sahara, can you tell when your father told you that anecdote?"

"Umm. When I was ten."

Princess Alice stared at me and said, "Then it has happened when you were five, Sahara. Am I right?"

I slightly shook my head and looked at the princess who's sitting in front of me.

"Hurry up, Cartlon! You have to look around and gather some information about the old prophecy."

Princess Alice stood up and walk closer to Cartlon. "I am counting on you, Cartlon."

Billy hurriedly grab his weapon and followed Cartlon. "We're heading out, your majesty."

"I shall be waiting for you to come back before the dark."

Cartlon, Billy bowed to the princess and went off, leaving me and Princess Alice.
