Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

It was a calm November evening in the cold town of Fair Banks. Elena was currently walking home to her small apartment on 13th street. She got off early from work. As the CEO she doesn't always have free time. But once a month she gets off early to go have fun with her two lovely daughters Lilith and Winter. Tonight they were going to watch the new Cats movie. As she was turning onto 13th street she saw something that stopped her dead in her tracks. She breathed in ...and out she had to remain her composure. She didn't know exactly what was wrong yet but she hoped her daughters were okay. She walked down to the apartment building . 1...2...3...4.She counted 4 police cars. She asked the only officer outside what was wrong. The officer said "sorry ma'am that's authorized information" She sighed and calmly walked inside to head to her apartment as she got in the elevator she was alone. She slid down the wall she was worried, she had lost her husband to a freak car accident when she was pregnant with her second daughter Lilith she couldn't lose anyone else. She took out her phone and called her daughter Winter. Winter was still a block or too away from her house. The late bus she took home wasn't on time. Her mother quickly said goodbye as she had reach the 8th floor. In the elevator Elena quickly try and put her phone in her bag only too look up and dropped it

All of her stuff fell to the ground as the 2 officers standing at the door of apartment 805 stared at her as she scrambled to pick up her fallen items. She walked up to the officers standing at the door . Her door. She tried too look though and see if the door was open but being the petite person she was she couldn't see past the 2 tall officers at her door. The female officer told her she was not allowed to look or step inside the apartment it was unauthorized. She retorted back with a snappy "You can't deny me access into MY own apartment!" The male officer glanced at his partner and then back at her with an apologetic look plastered on to his scarred face and then opened the door.

She suddenly felt very small,like a deer in headlights.
