The training was brutal and bloody. The knights and prince uses real weapons, which help increase their immunity to the sight of blood and raise the awareness of their surroundings.
As usual, Prince X push her limits and clashed against 8 other knights, who surrounds her in a circle knowing their result of the practice. X, like always, emerges victorious. A silence then follows as the wounds are tend and the battlefield cleanse up. Then, the flaw of the assassins techniques were revealed and adjusted to accommodate their fighting style.
"Good work, all." The footsteps that followed was silent, deadly, and calm. X left her battle field without letting her guard down, in case of an ambush in the Royal Garden.
That was tiring, Remiz thoughts wander. I wonder what's for dinner, maybe some steak and milk with the dessert of Creme Brûlée would be appealing. Or maybe just...
Her thoughts were interrupted because of a slight rustling noise somewhere near her. The noise was 10 feet away from her no more, no less.
"Who goes there. Reveal yourself or I shall punish you." Remiz's tone was as sharp as daggers, but no figure emerged. Just maybe she was being too paranoid from a quarter day of hard work.?
Remiz scans her surrounding and sense no danger. Then, the Prince Charming cautiously walk away.
She passed through the palace's entrance greeted by the guards and quickly dash to the dining area. Rosele welcomed her cheerfully with a bright smile.
"Your highness, welcome back," Rosele is an outgoing pure girl, who happens to be her maid.
"No need to be too much into curtesy, Rosele." There was a short pause, "Is my dinner ready?"
"You're just right on time your majesty, please wait just a moment."
Perfect, food is the best to accommodation when the day is almost over. Remiz walk to her seat and sit down. Somehow, her thoughts are uneasy thinking about the rustling earlier. Was she being too precautious that wind is tricking her or was there someone there? If so, then who might the intruder be?
Remiz's thoughts were so disorganized that by the time it was sorted out, Rosele was staring at her intensely with a worrying expression. The steak and milk was in front of her for the past 10 minutes, and started cooling down.
"Is the steak not to your liking, your highness?" Fear and concern was clearly expresses on Rosele's face.
"No, no, that wasn't it." Remiz quickly and elegantly stuff herself with the medium-rare steak.
I should investigate the incident after this meal, she thought. Perhaps I can find the palace's weakness and strengthen it and the intruder. That's a good deal, a win-win.
What Remiz didn't notice, was a satisfying look on her face that causes Rosele to smile and wonder, what could her highness be thinking about so positively?
