ALANA
I stared at him blankly.
"Did you hear me?" he faced me fully, elbows propped on either side and legs spread widely in a signature male way. "Alana? I said we're in the news."
All I did was stare at him. Then I burst into laughter. "I—oh my God—hahahhahaahh—"
"Alana, I'm serious," Knight's ears were turning a lovely shade of pink too. This time I think it was from anger.
I laughed again, doubling over this time.
"ALANA!"
I froze and against my will, covered both my ears out of habit. Knight's eyes roved over the hands over my ears and the anger I'd seen and heard moments ago just . . . vanished into thin air. Poof.
However, there was no stopping the visions furiously colliding against my eyelids. My toes shook in my slippers and I hastily got up, mumbling something. Knight stood too, stopping me in my tracks.
"I'm so sorry," he mumbled, eyes bright with intensity. "Shit, did I scare you, angel?"
