Elize sighed, playing with the edge of the prince's shirt. The Tohar Sehlah had rejected her efforts to get to it. She remembered how once it had called her master and bound itself to her by a wish. It had sounded so demanding when it had told her to retrieve it when the time comes. And now, when she came to do so, the thing had not only rejected her but also tried to drown her.
"Stupid stone." She murmured, narrowing her eyes at the imposing structure of the cave.
The prince chuckled, shaking his head at her. Dousing the fire in his hand, he grabbed a bunch of her hair and started examining it. Elize stiffened at the touch. Though she was getting more and more used to his proximity, she hadn't learned to relax around him completely yet. The kelpie's presence affected her more than she cared to admit.
