The two walked hand in hand through the footpath leading out from the boy's hostel. The soft evening breeze lapped softly against her skin as she kept going forward, holding his warm hand in hers. In the bright pink sky of the setting sun, birds were flying home in groups. She could hear the chirp of mother birds as they came home to her excited chics. Random squirrels rushed past them, climbing up the trees in a hurry. It was a beautiful evening. And given that she got engaged only yesterday night, she should have been happy.
