Luna gulped, closing her eyes, cursing her luck under her breath. The sweat on his hand oozed into her dress, drenching a huge patch of her shoulder. Her hand tightened around the pulsing stone that rested safely against her chest. She was scared that he would notice. After all, his senses were better than hers at the moment.
But in the next moment, the stone went flickered, getting warm and cold simultaneously under her grip. The goddess opened her eyes in panic. But she couldn't spot his beautiful green eyes anywhere. He was gone, even before she could get a good look at his face, she thought, as her heart shrank in disappointment.
But the stone was still flickering. It should mean that he was somewhere around. At least he was in no immediate danger from the presence of the man who chose to intrude at the wrong time. Forcing a smile on her face, she turned around, shrugging away from the wolf's touch.
