A couple of hours later, after the sun had set due west, Ned arrived at the scene where he and the rest of the candidates fought the worm-like beasts. The clearing made it easier for Ned to prospect the area: red clay, and mostly barren. Barely any signs of life.
Ned activated Detect skill. No signs of life. Not even his pursuers. He made sure to use little to no spells to avoid being traced by his mana leak.
Ned sighed. Not even telltale signs of the worm-like beast were left. He wanted to study the remains of the beasts. To be precise, the core the Tailor used to force the poor thing to evolve. But perhaps, it was for the better, Ned thought. Although he might seem to get stronger from his standpoint, Ned was fairly certain that he won't be able to defeat the Tailor or the werelion. He might still even have a hard time fighting the puppet without Overclocking himself.
Without any traces of life from the battlefield, Ned advanced to the southern horizon.
