Roldan knelt and splashed the water over his face, baring his teeth as he rubbed the back of his neck. Realizing the stupidity he had done, he dipped his head in the water, bubbles erupted at the sides of his head as he shouted underwater.
The beast, which he dubbed onyx (simply because of its black rippling skin) had been following him for hours since he left the forest. All he had to do was kill it. Just, kill it. Yet, the cat overpowered him in all aspects of his talent. Lack of mana, lifeforce, and weapon, his mind boggled only to survive.
Once he reached the lake, he dashed for water, hydrating his cracked lips and skin. But he could not stay longer. He pulled his head and looked over his shoulder. The sun was it? Or whatever magic the Limbo was creating to make the sun, or the feeling of having the sun felt almost the same as the real from the outside was setting. Roldan estimated it would take only a few more hours before dusk.
