Chapter 57 - Gaining The Advantage

Katsuya sat in front of the t.v enjoying a show. That's when he felt a sudden surge of energy pulse through the air. It was such an intensity as the t.v lost connection and power.

'What the...What was that?'

He peeked his head out of the window, but didn't spot anything off. Still, something was definitely going on. On and he most definitely knew he felt such power before. But where from?

Sitting on the couch, Sora took a sip of warm tea.

"That amount of energy isn't good news."

"Are you able to tell what the source is?" Katsuya asked.

Sora placed her mug on the table before sofly rumbing the sides of her head.

"Let me see. Hmmmm. No, I can't tell."

Her eyes followed Katsuya as he put on a jacket and opened up the window, second from jumping out.

"You're going to check it out?" Sora asked.

"If the energy was that intense, something is going on. And it might need my attention." Katsuya stated.

"Whatever was causing something that intense feels like it would be a problem even for you. But, your wishes are my orders. So, if you go, I'm right here with you."

"Okay, let's go then."

One great leap, Katsuya flew from his window and landed over a roof in a nearby neighborhood. He was sure to land with no sound, to not disturb anyone asleep, though they were probably already awake from that energy surging through the air. He followed up with another jump, landing over on a different roof. Katsuya stopped for a moment, and listened through the quietness of the night. It wasn't as quiet as he thought it would be, somewhere in the distance, his ears made out the sound of a banging noise.

Again, Katsuya hopped over on another roof, but this time he kept going until he had gone over five neighborhoods. His feet finally brought him to land in a back alley, and now, he could clearly hear the noise he was chasing. It was a loud baging with sudden stops in between. It was almost like gunshots were ringing out. But Katsuya had enough experience to identify that the sounds were coming from attacks of powerful people.

Boom! Bam! Bom! Bum!

'I guess some adventures are having differences or something.' Is what he thought.

Sensing the vibration of the strikes through the air, he could tell that people at least platinum rank were fighting. They definitely had enough power to almost make Katsuya think there were monsters.

With the stealth of an assassin, he peeked out from the alleyway and out into the open. There, he saw a fight unfolding.

Down the street, two people were throwing a number of punches and kicks. With the way each attack moved through the air, Katsuya knew these were people who had martial arts experience. His eyes opened wide while a realization came to him. He recognized each of these people. Standing in the back injured was the man who tried to frame him. The ones that were fighting were Harley Vale, the prison guard Katsuya was beat down by some time ago. Lastly, there was a red-haired girl who wore a red business suit, along with silky white gloves. She was 'Arisa' the leader of an organization that she tried to recruit Katsuya to.

Three familiar people in one place. From Katsuya's point of view, it looked like Harley Vale was trying to bring Arisa down for the crimes of attacking two cities. If that was the reason, he Katsuya fully approved of it due to the fact Arisa's men held Jill hostage at one point.

_________

Harley Vale slid back from blocking her opponent's kick.

Breathing heavily and taking a second to breathe, she spoke.

"You're...pretty good."

Also breathing heavily, Arisa replied "You're not too bad either. I know a fellow Taekwondo master when I see one."

For the long course that they had been fighting, none of them had really landed a full force strike. With both of them being masters of the same style, it was going to be a difficult fight.

"I guess I'll mix it up a little bit." said Harley.

A deep breath went in and left her mouth as she raised their fists. It was a boxing stance.

"Oooh, boxing.I hope you're good at that too." said Arisa.

"Oh, I won't disappoint you." Harley replied, focusing her eyes on her foe.

Arisa's hands and feet began to glow white as she grinned.

"Unfortunately for you, this is in my favor. You can't use skills, but I can. Now, you better hope none of my punches or kicks hit you. IF they do, you'll be getting a nasty cut. You might even lose a limb."

"?!"

Arisa jumped forward, sliding her hand across Harley's shoulder.

Slash!

Jumping back in pain, blood spilled from the wound on her shoulder. But, the wound was a little to clean, it was like a perfect blade had cut it.

This was definitely a bad matchup for her. There was no doubt that Arisa's strikes were capable of cleanly carrying out execution.

Ignoring the pain, Harley clenched her fists, ready for another strike.

Arisa danced around while swinging her hands and legs. Harley jumped back, evading them as it was all she could do. At this point, It wasn't even safe to try and counter.

Arisa hopped from side to side and her speed started to increase at a speed that was hard to see.

Swsh.

Her entire figure vanished and appeared in front of Harley who stood in shock as a hand launched at her face.

"!"

Harley tried to move, but she wasn't going to go fast enough to dodge.. The hand was no more than an inch away from stabbing into her face. This would surely cause her death.

A red steam of light flashed through the air, smacking Arisa hand away before a powerful force blasted her chest, throwing her back.

Smack! Fwsh! BOOooom!

Harley stood in the most distress that she had felt in awhile. She had been saved by someone who moved very fast.

"If it's two against one, we have the advantage," said Katsuya.

He would've never thought that he would assist the very person who once beat him to a pulp.

A blue light hovered next to them and flashed.

Sora appeared, weilding a blue katanna.

"No, it's three on one."
