Army crawling through the bushes with an unconscious woman on his back wasn't the most difficult thing Ray had ever done but it wasn't the easiest either. By the time he made it far enough away that he could stand up and run with her over his shoulder, his back was starting to ache. He wasn't as young as he once was.
He stuck her in the passenger seat and buckled her in before zooming out of the parking lot. He needed to get his phone back if the police hadn't found the van already.
He drove by the alley and cursed. They had. Whatever, he could tell the truth about that part. He stuck his phone in the bag to try and track Claire. Coming up with a story to tell the police was something he could worry about later. Right now he needed to get her to safety.
At a red light he noticed that there was a dart sticking out of her neck. Fantastic. He didn't know what sort of a tranquilizer they had used but he was willing to be it wasn't safe for humans.
