Cody wasn't able to get an appointment booked with Alex until Wednesday evening after all of his classes were done for the day. He had an hour of his friend's undivided attention but felt a bit foolish for his method once he arrived.
"Cody?" he asked in disbelief. "What do you want to train with me for? You already know everything I know."
"…I wanted to talk to you and this was the only way I could think of doing it," Cody confessed.
Alex laughed, which startled him. What was so funny about that?
"You do realize you could have texted me to figure out a time to meet, right? You don't have to pay to talk to me. That isn't how friendship works."
"I thought you were busy taking care of Ethan!"
"Ethan is at school most of the day. He's here now though because school is over. He's over on one of the punching bags."
